Too Short for Regular and Too Tall for Petite (call for shoe searching divas)

So I picked up my dress a few days ago from DB. I'm 5'2 and a half (yes I count the half lol). So they suggested I order the dress in petite to save on alterations. Well I try the dress on and pull it up and look down and see my ankles. I almost fell out of the little curtain dressing room. What the deuce?!?! The alterations specialist straighten out the crinny stuff underneath and it fell correctly but get this it's almost a perfect hem with me BAREFOOT!!!. I will say I was a little bummed because I was looking forward to wearing heels for my wedding and I just didn't want to be sooooo short. FI is taller than me and in all of our pictures together I either have on 4 inch heels (and still look short) or I am standing on my tippy toes. After I calmed down and prayed about what to do. (I wanted to order the dress again in the regular size) It came to me that this is actually a good thing. Because the dress is a petite the proportions are great and the fit is banging!  Now I don't need the bust taken in. Also, I've been having issues with my knee lately since I'm on my feet alot for work. So it probably is best that I get a low heel. So now the issue is --I need shoes. In order to not to have a high-water dress the highest heel I can wear is 2 1/4" from the back of the heel or 1 1/4" measuring from underneath the shoe (front of the heel). and no thanks I don't want flats or ballerina slippers (that would probably be the one thing that would make me go bridezilla if that was my only option but I have hope) I would like an ivory shoe if possible but purple, blue, gray, or yellow is fine.. Anybody got any ideas? I have been to every department store and shoe store in my area and my online searches have not been successful...
