On The Knot's Checklist it says:

Choose a marriage contract (a ketubah or any other contract required by your religion) for the ceremony.

Is this something we need to do or wouldn't the church just supply something like this (like your Baptismal Certificate)?

Thanks in advance!

A ketubah is a traditional Jewish marriage contract.  The groom gives it to the bride to signify his committment to her.

You need a marriage license, but TK uses "contract" as a generalized term.

Ok thanks! I knew about the license but wondered if there was some fancy thing I didn't know about!

The church will tell you anything you need.  For example I need my baptismal certificate since I was not baptised in that church, a copy of our Engaged Encounter completion cirtificates, and letters from each of our parents that acknowledge we have never been married.

Again the priest will tell you what you need.

Muslims also have written marriage contracts. Roman Catholics don't. Indeed, as a ketubah lays out the bride's rights in the event of divorce, some kinds of marriage contracts can cause serious canonical problems for Roman Catholics.
