I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!  Any big plans?

My ILs have offered to pay for my ticket to NC for cousin's funeral.  I was going to make the 18-hour drive by myself, so that is helpful.

My husband's boss made mention of possibly relocating him to Yukon, OK (pretty close to OKC) because apparently he's not really doing all of the work they hired him to do at his current location.  This would be huge for us.  My family has huge ties to Oklahoma (I was born there), and it would be closer to home for H as well (the tiny town he's working in now is about 8-9 hours away).  Plus, Yukon is way less remote than where we've been planning to move, so job opportunities for me are way better.  It's not Texas, which I know really saddens H, but it would just be incredible.  AND they are thinking of sending him to a two-week training here in Dallas sometime this month, which would mean I'd get to see him full-time for a whole two weeks!

That's great news on the possible job transfer to OK. I hope it all works out!

I am still in graduate school and today is recruitment day for new prospective students. Which means I get free lunch for agreeing to help walk people to various buildings for interviews, and then we are having a poster session/more free food around 3:30. After that the department pays for us to take the recruits out to dinner in DC. So today is pretty great, although I will likely get none of my own work done. Oh well. Yay for lots of free food!

Awesome news professor!

This week has been a struggle. Besides everything in the news, it is busy season here at work. We have a "new regime" of management that is just making life much more chaotic than it needs to be. I may be working over the weekend, but I'm doing it from home. I need a break from this place!

prof - that's a fantastic opportunity!!!  I hope it works out for you and your husband... I can't imagine how difficult it would be to live apart so much after getting married.

Friday has been good so far... other than dealing with a silly client who is trying to renegotiate a lease based on my measurements and square footage calculations of a building suite that they're moving into... they don't quite get that my square footage calculations are HIGHER than what is on the lease, so they would have to pay MORE for the space.  Ok, I guess that's more amusing than annoying... I will get go go home early at least since I had to get in at 6:30am :-)

The fb discussion I started regarding the HHS thing has been remarkably civil so far, but the guy keeps insisting that an employer being obligated to cover contraceptives, etc. in health benefits is the same as that employee using their personal income from that job to go out and purchase said contraceptives.  I don't think he quite understood (or maybe even read) all the info I responded with regarding formal vs. material cooperation with sin, proximity to sin, grave nature of sin, etc.

I'm SO glad it's Friday.  I don't feel good at all and I just want to rest.  I have to go back to the doctor on Monday.  I wish they'd found something more in the ultrasound so we'd know the problem and be able to treat it.  I'm pretty sure she'll put me on progestin.  Let's hope I don't have a stroke!

Professor, that sounds like an awesome opportunity!  I hope it all works out for you :)

Is evereyone else's FB covered in people supporting either Komen or PP?  It's driving me nuts.  Someone posted about "let's stop defending PP by saying abortion is only a small fraction of what they do.  It doesn't matter.  Abortion is a LEGITIMATE health need for women, and we need to stop furthering the stigmatization."  I wanted to write a lengthy response about how pregnancy isn't a disease, etc., but I refrained because I know it's useless.  I also wanted to point out that perhaps Komen has a problem with PP for not reporting child rape, which it is required to do, by law.  But again, I refrained.

Yes it is driving me nuts too. And actually planned parenthood did not lose any money on this announcement. They have made more money in donations since the announcement than Komen institute gave them last year! I posted this in response to FSILs post because I knew she could be reasonable. Her main deal is she gets free pap smears at PP because they are really struggling finacially right now.

Anyway this is what I posted.

Actually PP has already come out ahead on this. According to this article (http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2012/feb/2/susan-g-komen-defends-cutoff-of-planned-parenthood/?page=1) they were given $680,000 from the Komen Foundation in 2011. On Wednesday they reported receiving $400,000 from more than 6,000 donors since the announcement, plus $250,000 from a Texas oil executive, and $250,000 from Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg.

Also in that article most planned parenthoods don't do mammograms and were referring women to other clinics. This was part of the Komen's argument for the withdrawing of support. They rather fund the clinics proving mammograms directly.

So much for that... it looks like Komen is reversing its support. :-/

Resa, ask for prometrium--- it's the natural progesterone that helps your body create more of its own. (napro docs do this one)You take it 10 days after ovulation every month-- peak +3 to peak + 12. If u end up getting this let me know and I'll give you more details.

If it really was a cyst though, I do t know why progestin would be prescribed.

Thanks for the advice, Agape!  I also don't understand what progestin will do for me, but when I saw my dr a week or so ago she said that was probably going to be her next course of action.  She wants me to "have a really good period, really heavy and just shed everything."  I kinda feel like I'm already having a really "good, heavy" period, so I don't understand her logic.

Those spineless pansies.  If the non-profit world were a high school... PP would be Regina George from Mean Girls.  Minus the getting hit by a bus and mending her ways aspect...

This is really happening:

With the flooding on facebook, about HHS and komen, etc I almost threw up today. Not kidding---major visceral reaction to the place things are going.

I just have to remember that God wins. I can't let my peace be stolen.

That is very sad!  The closing line is very timely... "Didn’t people flee across an ocean-sized pond to be free of this kind of thing?"
