We Told Mom

Yep...told her about Kansas.  I went home to vote, FI came with me, and my family always has Tuesday Night Dinner at my Grandma's house...so we figured, "Why not?"

She took it so much better than I ever expected, but she also said that she expects this will not be the only place that we visit...it's obvious she's thinking we'll find something closer.

FI has sent resumes to 5 other churches...but no one has responded.  He told me tonight that if we go out to Kansas for him to candidate, nothing feels "off", no red flags, etc, and they offer the job, he's going to take it.  It's at the point that he can't say, "No thanks...I'm just going to wait and see if anyone else wants to interview me."

So...my Tuesday was slightly better than Monday...how was yours?

Um yes! I completely agree, that would be so awkward, haha. Still praying for you guys! My Tuesday was better than my Monday, since I didn't get a speeding ticket like I did on Monday. Although todays Wednesday and I had a hard time falling asleep because I worked on wedding stuff right up until bedtime. But I have a Starbucks in hand so I'm hoping that gives me the umph I need :)

Really glad to hear you Mom took things well. I know it was hard to tell my Mom we might have to move to MD which would be 5 hours away from her. (We don't, but at the time I had to break the news just in case)

I'm glad your mom took things well. :) I'm praying that the candidating goes as it is supposed to, and that God makes His will known.

I know my mom has been struggling with me being so far away (she lives in WA and I'm in AZ - a 2.5 hour flight plus a 3.5 hour drive). When FI and I were just dating, she could hold on to the possiblity that I might move back home and be closer to her. But now that I'm getting married, she realizes that I'm staying here, at least for the foreseeable future, and that her (someday) grandchildren will be here. It's been tough for her. But it's also been a great opportunity for me to really talk about my faith with her and how I know that I'm following God's will for my life. :)

I'm glad it went well and am still praying for you guys.  I know that God has a plan for you and I love this verse - " 'What no eye has seen, what no ear has heard, and what no human mind has conceived' the things God has prepared for those who love him".  Isn't that a great promise?

Today was the best day at work so far this week (not great, but ok).  I had a flu shot today and my arm is killing me.  Other than that, everything is great!  Smile

@Lisa: I hate shots...despise them...I hope your arm feels better soon and it doesn't make you feel "icky" like it has some other people I know.

Thanks again for all of your prayers!  I'll let y'all know when we hear something.

I hate shots too!  At least it's not as bad as getting the flu.

I'll be praying that you end up in the right spot.  The prospect of moving somewhere new so far away can be imtimidating, so it's helpful to have a supportive family.
