Hey all! Jeremy and I are getting our engagement pictures done this weekend and our photographer said we can go where ever we want, she has a few ideas but I am just wondering if any of you have any ideas in the Phoenix/Mesa area for really wonderful pictures... please just let me know, ALL ideas will be looked into! What kind of look are you going for? If you want something more urban, try downtown Phoenix, around ASU Mercado is nice. If you want a more natural look, maybe South Mountain.

We also considered Tempe Town Lake, the Zoo, the Botanical Gardens, and Papago Park.

Also, I know you said in Phoenix/Mesa, but a lot of people do the LOVE sign at I think Scottsdale Civic...I think it's really over done and I hear there is actually usually a line of people waiting to get pictures there.

My photog said Papago park! Yay that is awesome! I'm from Minnesota so I love all the engagement pictures my friends take that they do in the cities. It would be nice to take some around Chase Field and stuff too!! :) anyway, keep the ideas rolling!! And Thank You!!!

Yeah, we did ours at the Scottsdale Civic Center (where the LOVE sign is) and there was definitely a line to use that as a backdrop. However, there were a ton of other spots there if you don't want to use that. We got some really fantastic shots in front of water, the flowers and trees and then went exploring a bit and got some good shots by some of the shops with some "old time" signs in them too.
Our pictures turned out really good and I'd recommend this site to anyone because there are so many places you can take pictures.

It is not in the east valley, but we just had ours done at the Anthem community park and it was an amazing location! Traiin tracks, lakes, waterfalls, green grass, bridges, .... so many choices and very beautiful!

Scottsdale civic center makes for wonderful photos! Also the Scottsdale borgata is really lovely. It's an upscale shopping center, but has lots of great places for photos. My fiance's sister gave us a gift card for her photographer in Tucson. So that's where we'll be having ours done. But, otherwise we woud do them at one of these two places. Any way, where ever you decide to do them, I'm sure they will look great! Good luck!

p.s. I'm an April 2013 bride too :)

I'm getting married on the 27th. We haven't planned a lot yet. Just looking at a lot of venues for our reception. We'll probably decide on one soon. Have you booked one yet?

We can't book until April, but I want checking out community centers and found the Red Mountain Multi-gen Center, they don't allow alcohol but it is a perfect place for a cute DIY wedding!
