I would consider a place that requires you to use their catering as long as you can bring your own alcohol. We are trying to have open bar and paying by the person to host the bar just adds up our cost a TON! Ideally I would want a place where we can bring our own catering, alcohol, dj, flowers etc.

What kind of outdoor setting are you interested in (i.e. beach, mountains, etc.)?

We want a "rustic" look so like a vineyard, farm, barn, ranch. But we are open to other suggestions. I feel like I've looked at every possible venue and haven't been succesful so maybe I should consider other outdoor setting.

My fiance and I just toured the Hazy Meadow Ranch in Lakeside, which is about 30 minutes east of San Diego, and we loved it! It's an actual working horse ranch nestled in a valley, with awesome mountain views. It definitely has a "rustic" or country feel to it. The photos online don't do it justice... I was much more impressed when we went to visit. They have a certain caterer that they usually work with, but you are allowed to bring in any and all of your own vendors so long as they are licensed and insured.
