Can anyone tell me about a good place to have our ceremony/reception that won't cost us an arm and a leg. I HATE those cheesy banquet halls in the Hialeah area because they don't allow any outside vendors and the decor is usually very outdated (early 90's).

We have checked out a few places (Signature Grand, Turnberry, etc.) but we still can't find anything for less than $80 a plate. I want to have my dream of a beautiful wedding, but I don't want to begin my marriage broke either. ARRRRGGGGHHHH!!! Someone HELP!!!

I would recommend the Ronald W. Shane Center in Miami Beach. It's a blank canvas and you can decorate it to your liking. Also, many brides who have used this venue have held their ceremonies there as well. The ceremony location has a a waterfront view that you and your guests will enjoy. You can use a tent to give it a more "glam" look or not use one at all. As far as the other vendors, you can bring any vendors you choose to which is great because you can book vendors within your budget.

Almost forgot, also check out the Miami Beach Botanical Gardens. If you use the great lawn then you won't need a lot of decorations because the space in the center of the garden. You can als bring you own vendors at this venue.

Try Royal Fiesta. They don't allow outside vendors for the food, but they're far less than $80 per plate.

I second the Shane Center its pretty cost effective....I'm using Signature Grand and I personally wouldn't recommend them to anyone living....

There is also Douglas Entrance (I think about $3500 to rent).
Check out the Fire Tower in Doral
There is an antique car museum in North Miami

That's all I can think off the top of my head.

Signature Grand is not very accommodating. To be honest they do some many weddings and have so much buisness they don't care about their brides.

I love the venue and the space and don't get me wrong they are very pleasant. There was just a TON of stuff I did not know they would charge me for until I asked.

They literally nickel and dime you for everything. The rehearsal and the tasting were the two things that really pissed me off.

They can't guarantee you a rehearsal day and it def can't be on Fri Sat or Sun. My wedding is on Sun so that means my rehearsal needs to be on Tues, wed or Thurs....this wouldn't be a problem if everyone wasn't from out of town. and it wouldn't be a huge issue if they could tell us in advance. Instead they can't tell you until 3 weeks prior.

So I can't plan my rehearsal dinner and my attendants can't book their flights in advance.

The tasting is another...I mean how am I supposed to select my menu if i can't taste the food.

There were little things we discussed prior to signing the contract that they would include or allow me to do that I didn't think to make them put in the contract, now as we get closer they seem to have mysteriously forgotten. If I hadn't saved emails I would be screwed.

If you do decide on them have them put EVERYTHING in the contract.

Sorry its so long.....lol

If I hadn't already spent so much money I would cancel.

Woooooow MsAmeera25 IDK it was like that over there! We have kept the place on our short list because of the price, but honestly, after our visit, I was not as excited about the place. I went to the bridal show that they had there and everything was so lovely, but I never realized that all of that "loveliness" was extra. ***sigh*** The woes of wedding planning. :)

Did you check out Royal Fiesta? For the price that SG quoted me I was able to add more guests, cover ALL decorations, flowers, & cake. The venue already has uplighting and linen. The only thing we need to do outside of this venue is the bridal party flowers. The florist handling the venue flowers will be doing the bridal party flowers also and her price was the best that I've found.

Don't let the woes weigh you down...have fun! Good luck in your quest.
