Aloha everyone,I need your expertise on photographers in Honolulu.  Who can you recommend?  So far I have looked into Julia Sieber (Sieber Studios) and L'Amour Photography.  Has anyone used either of these photographers?Thanks for any advice!

    unfortunately, i haven't but i recommend eddy fong of renai photo!! he's amazing. also, i know shawn starr and frank amodo are popular here.

    shawn starr is amazing!!! cannot say enough about him!!! worth every penny and his talent speaks for itself. he is a totally cool guy too so he is great to have around on the big day!!

    i would HIGHLY recommend Chrissy Lambert!!  Every vendor we met with said she is one of the best on the island!!  She has been such an awesome person to work with so far!http://www.chrissylambert.com/If we didn't use her, we were going to use Blue Nalu photography.  They have just moved from Atlanta, I think, to Hawaii in the last year.  They are a husband/wife team who have been photographers for a while!!http://www.bluenaluphotography.com/

    We are going with Barbara Gibson of Terra Photography too!! http://www.terraphotography.com/ She is a really nice person and she is a fantastic photographer. Her prices are pretty good too!

    as other knotties mentioned Shawn Starr and Frank Amodo are very popular on this board.  You can also check out Alex Rapada, who is Frank's associate.  Also, check out Rachel Robertson. I've also heard some good things about Marcia Campbell...all depends on your budget :)

    Hi there! I'm using L'Amour for my December wedding. Wendy and Eric are the cutest couple, I like their photos, Wendy has been AWESOME at communicating and helped me build a custom package, and they just got married themselves so can relate to it all.The thing I liked best is that it's two photographers, and having a male and female I think you'll get two unique perspectives, and make it easier to get the "getting ready" pics.They seem so nice, we invited them to our dinner!

    As others have mentioned Shawn Starr... I looked around and found that he was the best fit for my FI and I. Wel liked him becuase he had a little different style and makes the pictures unique. I have booked him for my wedding and he is wonderful to work with. Very fast on email replies. I can't wait until he shoots our wedding. I haven't heard anyone give him a bad review, on this board or anywhere on the internet!!! Good luck, just make sure that the photographers style is something that you keep in mind cause veryone is different

    I would definitely recommend Shawn Starr, he was incredible to deal with, so down to earth, genuine and pure talent... photos in my married bio.

    Thanks for all the recommendations everyone!  I really like Shawn Star too, but my wedding coordinator said he starts at $2000 and that's a bit out of the budget for me. If you don't mind answering- how much were your packages with him?  And was it worth it if you are really on a budget?

    We will be using Michelle Davis at "I do Believe Photography" She is very talented. She's got a good eye to catch the traditional photography all of us brides want but also to catch all the little special things nobody notices.
