As PP said try thinking of a season or maybe a month you might like to get married. Once you have a general idea of time of year start looking into venues. Check out several places. discuss a budget with whoever might be helping pay for the wedding. Also get a rough idea of how many people will be attending. Once you have an idea of budget, guests and time of the year, venues can help you in narrowing down an exact date based upon their availability.
You wont wont to do anything else until you have at least a date and a possible venue picked out. These two things will effect the type of wedding you will have.

I understand how you feel! I picked and date and moved onto a venue to find that everyone that I called is not available for the date that we have chosen. So, my suggestion for you is to start looking around on the internet to get some ideas. You will soon find places that you fall in love with and may get an idea of a time frame. You need to come up with a budget because some venues are very expensive. Then start calling places and see what they have available. It will all start to fall in place once you have a better idea of what type of wedding you want if you don't already know. Good Luck!
