Wedding Receptions in Portland

Hi Everyone!

I grew up in the Mid-Coast but since my fiance and a lot of our friends are not from New England we've decided to get married in Portland. Our Guest list is around 185 (but since 2/3 of them our outside of New England) we're expecting around 150. Does anyone know of any places in Portland where we could do the whole reception for $8000-$9000. We'd really like to keep it in Portalnd since we'll have so many people flying in.

Thanks!

Keeley's Catering in Portland has good prices, as does Fireside Inn & Suites (The old Holiday Inn West).  I don't know how many people they can hold but they were the best prices around Portland!

The Convention Center at the Howard Johnson also has great prices.  That's where I am getting married. www.hojoportland.com

If you really just mean the reception costing that much, and not all the other wedding-related stuff that gets factored in, Mariners Church Banquet Center in the Old Port seemed pretty reasonable when I was doing my search.

Keeley the Katerer's can definitely hold a lot of people.  My entire budget was $10K, and we had 120 guests.  It's nothing fancy to look at, but the food is VERY GOOD!

I would definitely recommend Mariners Church.  We looked at this past Saturday and liked it a lot.  The room rental fee varies a lot, but for February it was only 300 and then you had a food/drink minimum (I think it was 6000).  It was definitely big enough for 150 people and the coordinator (Sarah) is really nice!  Plus its right downtown - very convenient to hotels, afterparty bars, etc.  Your guests won't have to drive or cab it anywhere.
