so we are using Pier 5 as our venue, but room rates are listed as $239 within our block. this may be a bit much for most of our guests, and since they won't all be able to stay at the hotel anyway, we need to block another hotel or two. I want to do it like, asap, because I'm afraid things are going to get insane if they announce a go-ahead for the grand prix. so i want to get something blocked asap.
any suggestions for hotels within walking distance that you found to be affordable but not run down and awful? there are SOOOO many hotels in the area that i could spend forever looking into it, so i was just wondering if you guys had any thoughts.

We are doing three hotel blocks, all that offer something different. The Marriott Waterfront, the Hilton Garden Inn, and the Four Seasons. They each gave us $100 off the published rates for our dates. HTH!

that sounds good! so...i've never done this, what do you do? call or email and inquire about hotel wedding room blocks?or do you go through event/wedding services?
