Old Sea Pines Inn in Brewster

Hello everyone!

I am recently engaged and we are looking at planning a Sept 2010 wedding at Cape Cod.  We are looking for a venue that is small and cozy, as we only plan on having 40-50 guests.  Does anyone have any experience with the Old Sea Pines Inn in Brewster?  From the website it looks very pretty and quaint, but I would like to read some reviews before we decide on a venue.  We live in Alaska, which makes this process a little more difficult! Thanks in advance!!

I did not personally look at Old Sea Pines, but I do want to alert you that many places are booked for Sept. 2010 already. Certainly not every place, and you will definitely have more options if you are open to a Friday or Sunday, but just be aware.

As far as the Old Sea Pines, I didn't look there but my FI's grandmother lives in Brewster and really likes it and the owners. Good luck with your planning and congratulations.

The pp may be right about places already being booked. A few other places I would recommend looking into would be The Lighthouse Inn, and The Old Yarmouth Inn, they may have the same feel that you are looking for.

Take a look at Borsari Gallery in Dennis ... they do a great job in intimate weddings

I've visited Old Sea Pines and it sounds like it would be perfect for you.  Our guest list was about 150 and I thought it would be a little crowded.  It has a very nice Cape/New England feel inside but still classy and clean.  Email the owner (I forget her name!) but she was very helpful.  Also they have a nice garden you can do the ceremony on the grounds or there is a really cute Cape-y church directly across the street.   This summer I was driving by and guests were streaming out of the church and crossing the street to OSP for the reception!   They probably have still have dates in Sept 2010 as I was looking at this time last year and they still had availability.

I second Old Yarmouth Inn too - they are both kind of similar in feel and great for smaller guests lists.  Although I'm not sure at Yarmouth Inn if guests can stay there but at OSP they have accomodations right on site.

I looked at the Sea Pines for my spring '09 wedding, but did not love it.  I thought it was a bit old fashioned, plus I wanted to be closer to the water for a real Cape feel.  Your guest size may work if you closed the doors between the porch and dining room...  otherwise I think the space may look bare.

My guest count was 68, and we used the Outer Bar and Grille at the Wequasett.  It is open in September (they don't allow weddings in the summer as they serve dinner in the space) so I would recommend you check it out.  50 people would be very comfortable in there, and the Wequassett is gorgeous.  Good luck!

I agree with this pp!  We looked there and I thought it was adorable, but our guest list was just too huge.  It is definitely old and quaint, and I also thought our crowd would maybe be too 'rowdy' for it, but it was cute:)

I had my first wedding there, and loved it! I would use it again, but that would be kind of tacky. We had 125 people, and that was the max they could fit without putting people outside. 68 people would be great - you can have everyone eat in the side area, then leave  the main area/deck for drinks & dancing. Definitely check it out!
