Hi ladies! FI and I are getting married at the end of December. We are waiting until summer to take our honeymoon but would like to go somewhere for 3-4 days after the wedding to get away. We'll be driving from Chicago so somewhere in the southern/central part of MI would be ideal. I would definitely like a cozy feel (fireplace, whirlpool, etc) and a place with plenty of winter activities (skiing, tubing, etc). Any/all suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks!

My best suggestion is to check out Cannonsburg ski area. Maybe look for a B&B around there.

Look into the Saugatuck area. I went there a few years ago in the summer, and it's a lovely little town and reminds me a lot of New England, where I lived for 7 years.

Also, for hotels, try www.tripadvisor.com. Just enter the city you are interested in and they are ranked based on reviews from real customers. I have used this several times when we travel and never been disappointed.

Farther north up the coast there is the Traverse City area with skiing and other activities.
