So our ceremony location allows for three different time slots 9-12am, 1-4pm, and 5-7pm. We chose the 1-4 slot, with a 2:30 or 3pm ceremony time. Probablt go with 2:30, because we need enough time for pics afterward (we won't do pics with bride/groom together because we don't want to see each other).

Our recpetion venue is 25 mins away, all highway so not bad. If our ceremony ends at 3pm, is 5pm or 5:30 a reasonable time for dinner? We will do a cocktail hour, so if that makes a difference.

Ideally, we would like to have dinner at 6, but I know that might be a stretch.

Thoughts? Thanks :)

If you want to do it that way, I would make sure that there are drinks and appetizers available at the reception starting at 3:30. You could do a cocktail 90 minutes (with some kind of munchies) and have dinner start at 5.
