Trying to decide IF I should get a day-of coordinator and WHO to go with - please help! I am pretty OCD and want to relax the day of, I am thinking this may help. Thoughts?

Where are you getting married/having your reception? Many venues have their own DOC's as do churches.
You can also appoint a friend or relative to take care of any personal details you need taken care of that day.

I am going with a DOC for some of the reasons you listed. I want to be able to completely relax the day of and I want my family to be able to enjoy being guests at the wedding. I am sure that I have aunts who would be more than willing to step up and help but I feel like they would be battling being a guest and working the event. If its in your budget I say add a day of coordinator for peace of mind.
I haven't found a coordinator yet but I will be speaking with some soon. Vaughen events is one I've seen, Soiree Events design and Eco-Posh. I think I found all of them on the knot and I liked their websites so I contacted them. I haven't decided yet.

Hannah of Weddings by Hannah is my DOC. So far, working with her has been fantastic and I know she will be an amazing asset the week leading up to my wedding. She is also very affordable. Good luck!

I am responding to this post a little late but I hope you read it! I hired STEPHANIE FROM VAUGHN EVENTS for DOC. I LOVE HER! I highly recommend a DOC period, and Stephanie is so well versed in planning that she really helped me think thru the process. She also came at a reasonable price point. In the planning, she asked me questions about things I had never considered. On our wedding day, she took care of everything! Set up at reception, ran errands, called vendors to confirm everything. Even at the reception, our DJ was confused on our song list and Stephanie took care of it because she had discussed every detail of what we wanted with us ahead of time and knew exactly what to say. The glass in a big framed poster was broken and I didn't even know about it until I was leaving at the end of the night because Stephanie took care of it. She just helped make everything happen smoothly which allowed me and the groom to completely relax and enjoy our day. DO IT! DOC IS WORTH IT! And Vaughn Events is worth it!

Glad to see the glowing review of Vaughn Events; I, too hired Stephanie to be my DOC. She's awesome and now I'm even more convinced she'll do a great job!

Hannah from Weddings by Hannah has been amazing so far! I hired her for my 6 week coordinator because I'm planning my KC wedding from PA. I'm sure she'll be a lifesaver. I haven't met her in person yet, but she has been very helpful and responsive so far. Bonus- she's really affordable!
