Ok I'm trying to seek advise on places to look at. We are trying to find a place to have our ceremony and reception in the st Louis city area. My fiancée and I both appreciate great architecture as well as historic sites. We absolutely love places like the Marriott at union station, the crystal ballroom at the renaissance hotel downtown and pictures of the Coronado. I have yet to get information on the Coronado, however it seems if the Marriott or renaissance Won't budge on price they will remain out of our budget. We have a guest list of 250 and an overall budget of $27,000. I can't see spending more than $15,000 on a reception hall. We have looked at a lot of places and it seems like they either have drop ceilings and zero windows or one would need a loan to rent them! I need some serious help!

Yeah, the places you mentioned are pretty pricey.  I have a similar amount of guests and comparable budget as you. I would suggest you look at:
The Rialto
Windows on Washington
Windows off Washington
9th Street Abbey
The Franklin Room (which I chose)
NEO on Locust
Mad Art Gallery
the City Museum
