Help with reception venues on a budget

Hi Ladies!
I really want to have a semi-traditional wedding reception, but I am on a budget of around $3000 (for about 35 people) total for the reception. I would really love to have drinks, food (dinner or appetizers) and dancing. I've tried to search (online since I live in Ohio), but I'm having a hard time finding a venue that would be around my budget that would have the option of dancing (most places that I can find online only would have food and drink). The only place that I have found is Maggiano's, but they are booked for my wedding date.

I would love to know if any of you have had a reception someplace that might be within my budget and we would be able to have dancing.

Natalie

I'm having my dinner reception at Canelleto at the Venetian. They have private rooms that are beautiful. The cheapest dinner option is $51 a person and the food is awsome. I am not sure if the room would be big enough for dancing, but I know that they do not allow djs or amplified sound.

Border Grill has very competitive price and VERY yummy food. The have a great outdoor patio and private area that would allow for a DJ, etc.

Rum Jungle has a great space but they have their house music (Latin I think) and they are very affordable

View 215 is also very nice and they have great packages as well

I suggst checking the websites of hotels tha you like and look at their dining options. You can usually find a few good options that way.

We're doing our ceremony and reception in the Vista Suite at Mandalay Bay.  We're catering through Masterpiece Cuisine for about $30/person (including food, beer, and wine).  There's no dance floor, but with only 35 people, you'd have plenty of room to dance, as long as things didn't get too loud.
This is a neglected planning bio.
This is a belated married bio, with no reviews yet because I'm lazy.

Sometimes I feel like people think that brides are delicate little flower princesses who get all dressed up and pretty for one special moment of their dreams, when really they're just normal people who just happen to be getting married. Things shouldn't have to be sugar-coated for grown-ass women. -mstar284

We just had our reception at Texas Station which is off the strip.  We had a shuttle bus take guests to the reception and back to Excablibur at the end of the night, and it was very inexpensive.

Our dinner was FABULOUS!!!  I cannot say enough good things about Texas Station.  We had it in a ballroom with a buffet dinner, cake and linens were included for $30 a person (including gratuity, not including alcohol).  It was for a 6 hour reception, the food was soooooooooo good as was the cake, and we hired a dj for around $400 for the night.  The ballroom was very elegant, and the staff waited on us all night and comped all our drinks.  I will be posting pictures soon.

Ok, I checked our budget detail for texas station, and it was $3000 total for linens, cake, gratuity, buffet dinner, and alcohol (wine/beer for 4 hours) for 53 people.  Hope that helps!
