Hi there

I noticed your previous post about Chiemi photography which is included in your all inclusive package with the Platinum.

We are just in the process of signing our contract for the same all inclusive package and had similar questions about the photgrapher.

Did you decide to go ahead with Chiemi in the end or did you negotiate an alternative one with the Platinum?

Thanks

Jo x

i know that the flowers are Roxi Floral - i've been emailing with Angel from there and have found her super helpful and responsive. Not sure who the dj is and hadn't known who the photographer was until now....should probably look into that! lol

Glad to see another platinum bride! We're getting married at Misura September 29th - can't wait!! We did the all inclusive and opted for the 60 count, now thinking we should have gone for the 85 as our numbers keep growing...

When is your wedding?

Hi there! We did decide to go with Chiemi Photography although my FI is still a llittle apprehensive. I'm sure she is wonderful and it sounds like the Platinum has worked with her before, I just wasn't 100% wowed by the pictures on her website. Her facebook pictures are much better, you should check them out. In the end I know pictures are really important but it just seemed to work in our budget and was easier to do all inclusive since we are DC folks and doing all this sight unseen. I'm getting married 5/4 so will share the deets after the big day. A side note...Nicole @ Platinum is super easy to work with. If you haven't signed the contract yet, and want to do the all inclusive package, she mentioned that if you have another photographer in mind she will credit a certain amount of the all inclusive price.
Best of luck everyone!

Hi everyone

Thanks for your replies.

I've read good reviews on the DJ (Go All Night Long) and also the florist and the officiant's website seems to be all OK.

We're getting married on September 10th in the Misora Room and will be having about 30-40 people.  From all our dealings with Nicole so far, I have to say I'm really impressed and the place looks incredible!

We're from the UK so like you Cheles, it's easier to go with the all inclusive package and their recommendations.  I'm sure they wouldn't recommend someone that's not great, especially when the Platinum has won so many awards for weddings!  I'll have to check out the facebook pictures though just to make sure although we need to sign the contract by February 10th!

All the best of luck on your big day Cheles!  I hope it all goes well for you.  I'd love to see your pictures and hear your reviews after your big day!

If anyone finds out who the vendors are for the all inclusive package let me know! I emailed Nicole, but she is out today. when she replies I will report back :)

I have contacted tons of other vendors and got pricing (mostly those recommended on the knot!). I think most of the pricing I have received is pretty fair and even almost a great deal I would say.....but it still seems like going the all inclusive route with Platinum ends up being a better deal! I am still looking into it and I guess it does depend on the vendors in the end!

I am also a September bride, but in Kilawat, misora was already booked for my date!!!

Hi All,

I am also a Platinum bride getting married on May 5, 2012.

Already very involved with all the vendors. We did opt out of the photographer and are using our own - Steve Fogarty. Here are the vendors we are using (some come with the package and some are recommended by the Platinum):
Flowers: Roxi Floral (Angel - amazing so far and I am doing a lot of upgrades and the pricing seems reasonable)
DJ: All Night Long - have been emailing back and forth with them and they have been quite helpful. We get a doc where we write down our preferred music for the different "events" as well as 20 songs of choice ($1 per additional song) and an unlimited do not play list.
Bakery: Retro - they are very quick to respond, have great reviews, and we are going with a 2 tier cake and a lot of cupcakes (not decided on flavors yet). I did a Facebook survey of my guests for favorite flavors of cupcakes and I have a pretty good idea of what I will order.
Pastor Pete - he emailed us with a document to fill out lots of questions about us and about the ceremony we want - hoping it iwll be great! I am thinking of candle lighting but not sure yet.
Decorations: This is the one i dont have figured out yet - I emailed both recommended vendors on the Platinum all-inclusive list and I have not heard from either of them!!!! I need to figure out what to do about that because I need to get chair covers, chairs, and so on...Kind of worried about that...
We went to LV in December and did our food tasting and have set the menu for now. We are going to have a 45 person wedding (it may go above that but we will pay the per-person price) and are doing both ceremony and reception at the Misora.

Excited to connect with other Platinum brides! Let me know if you find a decorator that works/worked for you!

Best!

Yay platinum brides!! :)

My inclusive comes with all the linens, and I did the upgrade for Chivari chairs (i'm sadly very excited about the chairs lol) Still deciding what sort of additional decorating want to do - would like it to be a minimum but don't want it to look sparse. It also includes tall tables for outside - but you ahve to rent the additional furnituere like the low tables, sofas, benches etc - i think we are going to skip it.

angel's been great - we are going to rent the wooden arch for the alter to give it something to anchor to. I haven't spoken to the dj or photographer yet. The info about teh DJ is great, that will help me figure it all out.

We aren't going to do a tasting, we're not doing a full meal, but having stations and apps.

We are also going to have Shutterbooth and Travis Allen :)

We're doing Retro Bakery as well - we did a tasting (well, just ordered a bunch of cupcakes and tried them all lol) the were DELICIOUS! We're going with Lemonade, Pumpkin, Peanut Butter Chocolate and Coconut.

We are going to use the suite to get ready but not staying there - we are going to stay on a strip hotel.

Sarah,

the food tasting took about an hour. We made an appointment with Nicole and Miya and they took us to the restaurant @Kilowatt. Foodtasting is included in your package but you need to get there before the wedding to have it. They do it at 2pm I believe any day...They let us pick a few choices from the menu that you see on the package and they prepared those choices for us to try of which we picked what we wanted for the day. The food was amazing!
Here is what we picked:
Hors D’oeuvres :
The stuffed mushrooms and the lamb chops. The problem I have with those is that each person gets one of each which I think is not enough. So we are going to order additional pieces at $3.75 each.
Salad Course
Zinfandel Poached Pear Salad, Maytag Blue Cheese, Spicy Candied Walnuts and Zinfandel Vinaigrette
Main Course
We are having the grilled chicken and have added shrimp with it. We are considering offering an option of the steak but that costs on top.
Dessert
Warm Apple Strudel with Cinnamon Vanilla Ice Cream
I LOVED the chocloate mousse with raspberry and it is presented very pretty but I let hubby choose this one...
On top of that we are having a 2-tier cake from Retro and a lot of cupcakes.

RE the chairs - you will need to rent chairs for the ceremony. Misora comes with chairs inside but outside they set up a stage and a table but you need to get chairs and decorations from Roxi Floral (e.g. if you want to have an arch, pewmarkers, and anything else you need to arrange yourself). This is what I am after..

I also want to use a decorator to cover the dinner chairs...

Hi All,

yes that's right re the chairs. Sorry about that! They are included for the ceremony bt I am upgrading them so that's why I need to rent!

I just updated my bio (still got lots to include) but you can see what I have chosen for the package HERE

i was panicked for a moment thinking oh no, did i miss something on the contract! lol
But, I still don't know why you'd have to rent to upgrade? I am doing the upgrade as well, but they included it in their services. She did give me the names of some places we could rent from outside if we wanted, but didn't seem worth the extra hassle, and seemed to be about the same price.

And thanks for the info on teh other vendors - all night long seems pretty good from their site and least!

@Cheles93 - i couldn't see pictures on her facebook page - it seemed to be a personal one - do you have a link to one for her business? Thanks!

I am also upgrading the chairs. The only choice Miya gave me for Chivari chairs is white and I'm trying to figure out what color linens to go with. The carpet is like a taupe and the curtains are brown. What is anyone else doing color wise for the Misora Room?

Torontozombie - Did you "like" her FB page? I wonder if that's why you couldn't see the pics. This is her FB site.

This board always gets me pumped for the wedding Laughing

I'm thinking of going white with the linens, just to keep it from getting too dark - i'm planning on doing things in an aqua / tangerine / green. Doing the white chivari's as well

weird on the facebook page, that link just takes me to the home page and the only thing that comes up when i search chiemi photography is her personal page - maybe i'll send her a message :)

i know what you mean about getting pumped - i check this board like 20 times a day lol, my fiance thinks i'm nuts planning so far ahead. But it's not really, we've already had 2 things not booked because the date was already taken! lol

I'm thinking of an aqua color scheme also.  We're not upgrading on the chairs but we're hoping to negotiate with the florist on the decorations as we won't have use for all the 8 centerpieces that come with the all inclusive package - we will probably only have 4 maybe 5 tables!

This board is amazing, it's so nice to speak to other brides getting married at the same venue.  To be honest, if it wasn't for the board, we would never have found out about the Platinum!

I'm another Platinum Bride to be (8/30/12). Hoping to get my contract emailed this afternoon! I agree that Chiemi's FB photos are WAY better than the web site! I feel much more confident about using them now that I've seen the FB page.

We are looking at about 40-50 guests in a rooftop terrace wedding and a Misora room reception.

What are you ladies doing for alcohol? We are thinking of a full open bar for 4 hours, but may downgrade to part cash to keep our own costs down. The videographer looks amazing! That's such a luxury to have IMO.

Any themes you guys are thinking of? Is a Vegas theme in Vegas lame?
