So my FI and I are sitting here sifting through all of the reviews and there are SO many.  We are completely overwhelmed.  Share your thoughts with us.  Let me know who your photog was and grade them here.  You don't need to expand or do any extra work, I promise.  Also, if Cashman did your ceremony photos grade them too while you are at it.

I told my FI that I would have a list of photographers in a matter of days if I asked here.  He responded with, "do it!"  So here I am.

    There's really no more than about five or six that are commonly recommended on here.  The three most frequent I see are Bently & Wilson, Mike L and Deacon Tyler.

    During my research I have to say that we had been impressed by the work of Digs Studio and John Morris - my FI wasn't impressed by the other photographers, he said their work looked too much like "stock photography" - don't mean to offend anyone!
    I think you should look at everybody's work and find the one who "speaks" to YOU (both of you) aside from all the great advice you can get from us other knotiies. You're going to hear that this one is great and that one is amazing over and over, but in the end, which one do you like the most from what you can see? I think it comes down to that.

    We used Steve Keegan.  He's not mentioned here  as frequently, but let me give him a shout out!

    Check out his website www.stevekeegan.com for his philosophy.  There is no BS on his website, this really is how he operates.  He's extremely nice and makes you feel so comfortable.  We barely knew Steve was there as he blends into the background all the while capturing the best moments of your event.  All of my bridesmaids hugged Steve when he left, he was just so great.  We're waiting on his pics from our wedding (we had him for 8 hours, so there are a ton), but I'll post the link to pictage when I get them (his package price includes the rights to all the digital images).  He did our epics last spring.  We were tired and hungover, yet he got some great shots. See my bio for those and his website link.  Again, I really encourage you to check him out!

    As for Cashman, we had them for our ceremony and they exceeded my expectations and got some great shots.  I think it just depends on what photographer you get from them.

    We are using Joey Allen.  Obviously I don't have pics yet but love the work I have seen of his.  He has been great to communicate with thus far....has answered about 100 emails in the last week alone! (Poor guy)!

    We are using Cameron Smith of Imagine Photography.  He has been so great in working with us, resheduling, etc.  I haven't seen any of his work that I didn't like.  Responds promptly to communictions and is really nice.

    We are using Jill Jennings at Highland Photography. Her work looks great and she was willing to work with our budget for pricing. Can't wait to work w/ her!

    We used Deacon Tyler and were very satisfied, A+.

    Imagine Studios did our ceremony pics and they were not bad.

    I've used Deacon Tyler, Bently & Wilson, & Cashman...all would receive A's for quality photos.   For detailed reviews check out my bio.

    Thanks, all.  I know that there are a handful of photographers that go around here but I was hoping that I could say, look, honey, X got 4 A's, Y got 3 A's and one B, etc.  We have started the research but it is overwhelming.  I'd rather start with a small pool than the whole of Las Vegas.

    Also, FI is also considering dropping Vegas as an option if he does not like the Cashman photography. 

    I guess I should have asked only the UNHAPPY knotties to post so I knew who to steer clear of!

    It might take some work but almost all of the married bios should have graded their photogs.  You can sort the knottie list by photographer and compile a list like you want.  There is only one or two photographer's lately who have gotten negative reviews. 

    I can't remember any recent complaints about Cashman's photography.  Price is the biggest concern brides have with them.  The hotel photography packages only include prints and the digital rights to the images are pretty expensive.

    Depending on where you get married, you can pay an outside vendor fee and not have to deal w/ Cashman at all.

    I think the only one that falls into that category is Michelle Toner/Toner Photography. There was some controversy involving her not being able to shoot after brides paid their deposit and not wanting to take a chance on her replacement. I believe one bride couldn't get her money back after the photog had already taken the pictures, but luckily she was able to get her pictures. I believe Michelle claimed to be going out of business, but was then involved with starting another photography company. I think she's the only one to steer clear of. This is all info based on what I've read here and wedding wire. Here's a thread if you are interested.

    This is what we started doing but my computer was not liking all the back and forth and what have you so I was hoping to get a quick list and start from there.

    We used Joey Allen for before and after the ceremony and Cashman for the ceremony itself.  We were happy with both, but if we could do it all over again, I probably would have paid the outside vendor fee to the chapel and used Joey for everything.  We were soooooo happy with his work. Plus, we got all of the photos on a disk, and with Cashman you get prints or you have to pay an arm and a leg for the disk.

    I don't think you can go wrong with any of the top photographers listed here. Like others have said, one's work might call out to you over another.  They each have their own style.  Your budget can play a big role too.  It wouldn't hurt  to email a bunch of them about their availability.  There's a chance that not all will be available on your date so that might help you narrow the list down a bit. :)

    We used Joey Allen, who was great to work with!  I paid the outside vendor fee at Caesars so he also shot our ceremony, which I'm so glad I did.  I gave an initial review of him in my bio below, but we're still waiting on our final photos (speaking of which, 11Vegas7, can you please stop emailing Joey so he can work on our photos? :)  totally kidding...sort of!)

    We actually brought our own photographer with us, because he was a friend, we liked his work, and he was willing to work at a very nice discount.  Since your location says you're just coming from LA, maybe that's another option for you?

    @ Noelle Haha!  My wedding is over so I will quit emailing him now because I want my pictures too!

    He was so great to work with.  He made our wedding day extra enjoyable!  I have nothing but 100 percent positive things to say about Joey Allen.  My guests even loved him--I have heard that he can be a little awkward at times but it wasn't the case with us.  We got  married a week and a  half ago and Jeff and I still talk about him daily....He really left a great impression.
