Bridal Gown – David’s Bridal (Easton) A

I had a wonderful experience at David’s! It was the 3rd dress shop that I tried and frankly, I was apprehensive.  I did not have wonderful experiences at the other places I went & one of them ended with me in tears. However I was pleasantly surprised.  The girl I worked with was so friendly, helpful and honest.  She definitely told it how it was, but in a nice way. She wasn’t pushy & I felt no pressure at all. She really listened to what I was looking for & the 1st dress she picked for me, ended up being my perfect dress.

Bridesmaids Dresses – David’s Bridal (Easton) C+

I did not have nearly the same great experience with my bridesmaids.  The 1st time a few of my bridesmaids went without me & had a horrible time.  I gave them a few rules (color, not floor length, and not satin) but said that they could choose from there.  The girl that they worked with (who has been since fired) told them that they looked terrible & should go in a completely different direction. Needless to say, they felt awful & self-conscious and I was very unhappy.  When everyone went with me another time, we worked with Kimmy, who was very nice & helpful and eventually got everyone on bored with a dress that they loved & felt good in. Size selection wasn’t great to try the dresses on, but that may have been since it was during prom & wedding season rush.

Alterations – The Taylor’s Den (in Bexley) A-

This is a very sweet lady, who works on her own out of a tiny shop. She was wonderful & did an excellent job on the bustle and very minor alterations that I needed. I can’t speak to her skill for major alterations, since I didn’t need any though.  The only thing that makes things a little difficult is her hours sometimes change since she works for herself, & she doesn’t really take appointments. So definitely call before you go to make sure she’s there.

Hair – Christy from 2nd Glance Salon A++

Christy did my hair, my mom’s hair & by bridesmaids hair.  I’ve gone to her for about a year, & am so glad I decided to stick with her for the wedding.  She did a fantastic job on everyone and worked well within the time frame she told us she would need. She is such a joy and so friendly, I just can’t say enough good things about her. One of my bridesmaids has even decided to switch to her as her hairdresser too.

Save the Dates, Invites & Thank you’s – VistaPrint A-

We chose a matching set of save the date magnets, invites and thank you notes. I was very satisfied with their quality & you really can’t beat the price. I really loved them.  The only problem we had was one box arrived with nothing in it, but when we called they rectified the problem at no cost and we had our new save the dates within 3 days.

Crafts & DIY – I used Michaels & Jo Annes for most of my crafting needs. Jo Annes tended to be a little less expensive and seemed to have a better selection.  I did the printing for my programs (which I matched to our invites) at Staples.  Next time I’ll probably try somewhere else since their customer service was not great and we had a few small problems with the copier.
