pricing for these venues...?

Anyone know off hand pricing for Bretton Woods or Costa del Sol (wedding package)? I'm looking for my sister, they're trying to go as inexpensive as possible and are very flexible with the date and the day (Fri/Sun okay). She's also going to look at Bridgewater Manor and Gran Centurions (they have a $52/person package!).  Any other suggestions appreciated as all. Thanks!

    Hey Amanda -

I think Costa Del Sol quoted us around $80pp for March/April 2010. The Tides quoted us $65pp for a Friday night in March 2010 and $80pp for a Saturday night in April 2010. (This was all before tax and gratuity, and the April date was $85pp until we added 25 people to our minimum.)

We also liked The Empire Club in Little Ferry and they were willing to customize the food package and negotiate prices with us - we only nixed it because it would've been too small if all our guests showed up. Another ~$80pp place for a Saturday night.

I agree with inquiring at Bridgewater Manor, they had a lot of decently priced packages when we went to talk to them. They and Costa Del Sol were our runners-up. And BM and The Tides have short-term dates on their websites, if your sister can plan in under a year. Saturday afternoons at The Tides were also very reasonable.

I negotiated the Hilton in Hasbrouck Heights down to $90pp, including tax and gratuity, for a Saturday night in March 2010. But we never went to check the place out - our contact was purely over e-mail - so I don't know how it looks inside.

Here's a post from earlier this year where some venues around $80pp are discussed. At least it could be a jumping-off point for your sister, if nothing else: http://forums.theknot.com/Sites/theknot/Pages/Main.aspx/local-wedding-boards_new-jersey_venues-start-80pp-less?plckShowLatestPost=1

Oh, and here's a thread where I was also asking for recommendations for one of my own friends:

Bretton Woods was $85 per person... The Kenilworth Inn and Gran Centurians is around $50 pp as is Panatagis in Scotch Plains... I believe The Westwood  and La Affaire are cheaper also.  O'Connors too!

I don't know prices, but hi Amanda!

Would your sister look at Brooklyn?  My cousin was on a very tight budget and had her reception at Bubby's in DUMBO.  It was a bit offbeat -- the dinner was barbecue (yummy barbecue though) and most of the dessert was pies (Bubby's is known for their pies I think?), but the space was really pretty, and the views were awesome.

I'm having my reception at Costa del Sol and for a Saturday night in August we got $88/person then 20% gratuity and 7% tax (i think). After all is said and done its $110/person. And the cake is included in that. We haven't had our wedding yet but I would highly recommend them. Its family owed and run and we have had nothing but pleasant experiences with them!
