Got married at the Love Boat in Frisco

My husband and I just got married in April at the Love Boat in Frisco. Since we are local to the area and just went through the whole process I thought I might be helpful to anyone who has any questions about getting married in the area. I would be happy to share any info, pix, or tips that I might have.

    Hi - I would LOVE to see some pictures and get any information you have on vendors. We are looking at the Love Boat for October of next year, and I am completely clueless as far as logistics as well. Did people fly or drive, and did you provide transportation to/from their hotels and houses to the venue? As you can tell, I'm a little stressed. My email is brookemar@gmail.com.     I really wanted a house on the ocean and to get married on the beach, but several things made me settle on the Love Boat. #1- I have a few family members that have trouble walking and would have had a problem walking in the sand. The Love Boat has its own private beach on the sound. We were able to set up seating for 50 and plenty of standing room for the ceremony. Since there is also electricity down at the other house, "The Love Shack", we were able to set up a P.A. for ceremony music which was nice. #2- I could not find a house anywhere else that had a back yard as large as the Love Boat. We were able to set up a 30' X 40' tent for the reception and had seating for 104 under the tent, a dance floor, a smaller bar tent, a tent for the buffet tables, and put the dj in the gazebo. #3- The Love Boat itself is beautifully furnished inside. My husband and I and our wedding party were able to stay for the week. All in all, I felt the Love Boat had the total package. There were a lot of amenities that were added bonuses such as kayaks & bicycles. We had our rehearsal dinner at the house as well with a bonfire down by the sound following. I also thought that the off season rates were very reasonable. Let me know if you have any other questions about the house or if you want to see pix...

    Hi Dawn,I saw your posting and felt a rush of relief! I am getting married at The Love Boat on September 18, 2010. We too are staying there with our wedding party for the week! We're very excited, but planning this from northern VA is a bit stressful (especially given that I'm wedding planning clueless in general).     I am trying to find a beach house for my September 2010 wedding. The main problem is, every house I like only rents Saturday to Saturday and I'd like to have my wedding on that day. Has anyone had an issue or figured out a way to work around this? Anyone having their wedding on a Friday or Sunday? I'm getting nervous because all the houses seem to be booking fast. Any tips would be appreciated!

    DABBEY, I am getting married on a Sunday and we booked two beach houses with SUN REALTY. If you go to their website, and click on FRESTYLE homes, you can pretty  much book with any date.They're not event homes, but I was so intent on having my wedding at the NC Aquarium, that i was so glad we found somewhere to stay without having to book two weeks!     dawn..this is Captain joe from the Love Boat...hope you are well...thank you for the kind words...to all the brides out there for the 2010 year...a couple of things...we are moving the check-in/check-out day to Monday...so you can have your Saturday wedding and sleep in the next day...I am also developin the sound front beach to be a full flung beach experience...the Love Shack is also getting a face lift...and will accomidate the newly weds for the honeymoon... I am here to help any way I can

    Dawn, I would love to see any pictures you have from your wedding for set up and tent locations. Also, any recommendations on vendors.  I will be visiting the Love Boat soon and really hope it can work for us and the big day in October!

    We are looking at the Love Boat ourselves!!  Do you have the pictures posted anywhere?  I'm interested also in the layout of the property and how it fit with what you wanted.  I know I'll eventually end up going down there to check it out, but I wanted your opinion on it....it seems you were very pleased with it :-)

    I would love to see pictures from your wedding. I am just beginning to plan my May/June 2011 Wedding, and any ideas would be very helpful. I would love to have a Beach Ceremony if possible with 75 guests.

    We are looking at the Love Boat for a spring 2011 wedding. We are thinking about 90 guests, I would also love to see photos from other weddings there and see how you all set up the tents etc..

    Also tips on caterers, rentals etc...

    Also curious on DJs... I really would like to find one that is not too corny.

    We have just booked the Love Boat for our October 1st, 2011 wedding!

    Where did you have your ceremony, was it on the deck, at the gazebo, or on the private sound front beach?

    Did you rent a tent? Which company did you use?

    I have to have everything planned by Sept. 2010 because we are moving to Beijing China in October 2010, we'll be coming back to the US for two weeks just for the wedding.

    Count me in ... I would love to see how people set up the house for weddings.  We are looking for a September 2011 wedding.   Love the house... what a cool concept!

    Might as well add one more request to the mix! :) We're crossing our fingers for a October 2010 wedding at the Love Boat and any pictures, advice, etc. you can pass along would be very much appreciated!

    We're thinking approximately 75-100 guests, food & cake served indoors with guest seating and dancing outside beneath a tent. I'd like to best utilize the space available and would really love to know how you made it work. :)

    IIf it's not too bold of a question to ask, I'm also interested in your general budget in terms of the venue, catering and additional rentals (tent, tables, chairs, etc). I'm trying to anticipate costs to include in my budget so hindsight advice is definitely worth quite a bit!

    I never got a responce to my previous post, but am really curious how other brides set up their reception here.

    We are booked for May 2011 and are trying to decide on getting a tent and logistics. If you had your wedding here before, how large was the tent? Where did you hold the actual ceremony, on the beach or in the gazeebo? If it was in the gazeebo, where did you have your dance floor and reception?

    Some of the photos I have seen of the location do not include a tent, and trying to figure out where to put it up is frusterating me

    Oh please me too! I have been dying to see how some of these receptions are coordinated on the lawns and i keep going back to the Love Boat! and now to hear that its a monday to monday rental! i may be sold!!
