My fiance and I have had to scrap our original wedding plans for financial reasons. We are now looking for a new venue in the greater Raleigh area. Here's the scoop... our wedding date is 5/19/12, we will have less than 50 guests, will have it catered by friends/family, would like an outdoor ceremony and indoor reception, will provide beer/wine ourselves and we have about $3000 to get it all done. This is a second wedding for both of us and we're not looking for anything too fancy or formal. My dress will be knee length and we will have one attendant on each side. We have many of the larger expenses covered (pastor, photos, music, decorations, flowers, and such). We just need a venue that won't break the bank! I've goggled and searched all over the internet. Now I'm looking to you awesome folks for some suggestions... what have you got???  Embarassed

Check out Haywood Hall, The Stockroom, and City Market. All in Downtown Raleigh and aren't too expensive and are a good size space, but not so big that it'll look empty with 50 people.

Of the Tucker House. I think there you can do the outdoor ceremony ad I door reception. I'm not sure if they'll let you be inside at Haywood Hall.

You could also check with the bed and breakfasts in the area.

You could also check out the Rose Garden at the Raleigh Little Theater.

I would suggest looking at the Raleigh Rec site, there are many cute houses and places you can rent.

Good luck

Borden House at Fred Fletcher Park is very nice, in addition to the suggestions above. It's part of the Raleigh City Parks.
