WWYD? -Hair Question-
Hey North Carolina brides and grooms. Chat here about the best tips, Knottie GTGs, and wedding planning in your area.
So we're headed to Florida this time next week (YAY) and I'm contemplating getting my hair cut. I really like my hair long, but it's hard to style at this length and I become lazy about it. My thought

So we're headed to Florida this time next week (YAY) and I'm contemplating getting my hair cut. I really like my hair long, but it's hard to style at this length and I become lazy about it.

My thoughts are that it may be warm down there, but also could be humid and my hair + humidity = horrible look. I had been waiting to cut my hair because I wanted to donate it again and I believe with my length now, I've got a good 12-14 inches to donate.

My other thought is that I heard recently that if all you do with your hair is put it in a ponytail, it's time for a new hair style.

I guess I don't really need convincing about getting it cut, but more so when to get it cut. Plus I'm bored and wanted to post something. So what would you do? Wait to cut it, or go ahead and get it down now?

I'd go ahead and get it done now before you're trip.  Your hair will look so crips and fresh in all the pictures that you take next week!  How short are you thinking about going?  Shoulder?  Chin?  Any layers?
It's going to be a really slow day at work for me so I need to entertainment haha!

I would wait.  Keeping it long and easy to put up... ponytail or a bun, maybe even a braid... will make it low maintence for your trip.
I have long, super fine hair that tends to get a little crazy in the warmer, more humid months... but adding some smoothing cream and putting it up while its still a little damp seems to keep it pretty well under control.

It'll be right around my shoulders again. Short enough that it only takes a few mins to dry and style, but long enough that I can still put it in a ponytail if needed. Im probably going to do the same style that I did the last time I donated hair as Im not REALLY adventurous because getting my hair cut makes me nervouse.  It was right around the shoulders, maybe a little above and slightly layered, just to give some body. The front was shaped around my face, but no short bangs as I didn't want poof bangs on frizzy days.

I'm halfway tempted to get some high/low lights put in, but I probably wont. Im offically a weenie when it comes to stuff like that. . .

DO IT!

You'd much rather spend your vacation time in the sunshine and not washing/drying your hair, yeah?

Where are you going to go to get it done?  I LOVE the guy who cuts my hair (Stephen at Alter Ego in downtown Raleigh).  He's amazing at figuring out an easy to maintain style that looks amazing and isn't just boring and all that.  I've never liked my hair as much as when he cuts it.

Theres a lady that used to work at Salon Bliss that cut it the first time and made it look awesome. She's no longer with them, but is actually at a closer location to our house. I'm thinking about going to her again, but I also need to get my eyebrows done too, and  I don't really want to go to two different locations *sigh

Personally, I'd wait until after the trip.  But that's because I actually have to wash my hair more when it's shorter.  Right now I can just put it in a braid and it's fine.  When it's short I actually  have to STYLE it.

I read that as "I need to get my two eyebrows done" and I was momentarily confused as to why you needed to indicate how many eyebrows you have.

Haha. You never know, some have one, some have two. I have two and both need to be cleaned up. It's gonna hurt because I've waited too long, once again. . . Eventually I'll learn.

I would go ahead and cut it. For me personally, when I decide I want to get my hair cut, it drives me crazy until I actually do it.

And I completely hear you on the not wanting to style it. I love having long hair and it's a necessity for the wedding, but some days there is just way too much of it. FI loves it, but I just don't know if I want to keep it this long after the wedding.

That's where Im at now. All I do is put it in a pony tail and it's just blah.
I also feel like with the longer it gets, the less thick it is. I've emailed the girl that normally cuts it. Hopefully she'll respond soon :)

-Long hair is also an issue when it's long enough that when you roll over in bed, you can't move because you've tangled up in your own hair. It's really sad. lol

I just read a funny post on FB about first world problems and thought to myself "Oh man, I think some of those things sometimes" and then I read this and had to laugh.  I'm not alone in my laziness.
