Without telling me, my mom hired a band called Stays In Vegas to perform at my wedding reception. I've never heard them play and the sound bites on their website are pretty useless. That's not their fault, it's just the recording quality. I think you'd really have to see them in person to know what they sound like (which my parents did... also without telling me  ).
My only concern is that our reception is taking place in a historical venue with LOTS of marble so the sound in there just bounces off of everything. I'm afraid that any band might be way too loud. I want the end of the night to be a really rockin' party but not one that blasts everyone's ears off. (Also, in the interest of full disclosure, I've always been partial to DJs at weddings.)
Has anyone out there ever heard them play? Have you hired them to perform at your wedding? What was your experience? Thanks in advance for your input :)

I have never heard of them but I would be livid if my parents booked a band for my wedding without telling me. Even if they are paying you should get a say. I also much prefer a DJ to a band. Good luck!

I hired Stays in Vegas to perform at our October reception and they were unbelievable. Months later I am still getting comments from family members (who all believe DJ's are better for weddings) about how amazing my band was. They were great at keeping the party going all night and the dance floor was packed. Their energy was fantastic and they were super professional as well. The recordings on their website to do not do them justice at all. Honestly your mom made a fantastic choice!
As far as the noise concern, the sales director of the hotel where our reception was held mentioned afterward how pleased she was with their sound quality/control. She said this was the first band that had the sound set up to not travel down the hall and echo in the lobby. She also said the other guests weren't disturbed at all. I would think if you voiced your concerns to them, the band would work really hard to address the marble.

I have heard them perform at a gig (not a wedding). They are really good. I really enjoy them!.

They played at a wedding I was in and they were really good!
