Hi Ladies! So, I was thinking I would do my own makeup for the wedding; however, now I'm thinking I should have it done. I would love false eyelashes, but not look too overdone. Does anyone have any recommendations?? I was thinking of just going to the mall to one of the cosmetic counters . . . need some help!!

Check out all the winners on the most recent Best of Weddings (I think they were announced Monday of this week). I believe Brideface came in first again; she has about a half dozen artists, so I'm sure someone would be able to accomodate you.

If you have some extra money laying around and want to spend it on makeup, check out BRIDEface. They're consistently top-ranked in the city among brides and other clients and I have heard nothing but AMAZING things about them. I booked them for my wedding day and they come to you wherever you're getting ready. The look I'm going for is essentially, "I'm naturally this gorgeous, duh" haha. In other words, I want a face full of makeup and gorgeous fake eyelashes without looking like I'm wearing a face full of makeup and falsies! And Nancy's artists can do anything you want. Ask to view a portfolio from the person who will be doing your makeup. Be warned - it's kind of expensive - but I honestly don't think it's any more expensive than any other makeup professional out there offering similar services. (I did price check other companies before I signed the contract and prices varied only about $5 more or less per comparable service.)

Thank you so much!! I have heard alot about Brideface . . . I will definitely check them out, even though, I really wasn't planning on spending alot of $$ :) I'm wanting that look too . . .natural, but gorgeous :)

For the brides that used Heidi McKenna, did you have any issues with needing touch ups during the day? If so, did you go out and buy some of the products she used on you during your trial so you would have them? Or did you just need blotting papers/powder/etc.?

I used her for my e-pics as my trial and I didn't have any issues with needing touch ups but I'm sure the wedding day will be a bit different. I do plan on asking what kind of lip gloss she is going to use and I will probably purchase it ahead of time so I have some. She does offer false eyelashes that are more individually attached and look very real and added where they are needed versus the huge sheet like ones, and those stayed on for a few days!
