I haven't found my dress yet, but I've heard that trashing the dress afterwards is becoming more popular. Is this a good idea? If so I'm thinking tons of paint! Any ideas?

i did it! mud. :) BUT, i didn't trash my dress. i trashed a dress i found at the thrift store. GREAT idea. so glad i did it.

I have seen tons of dresses on Craigslist and Ebay that would be perfect for this. Or, get a prom dress after prom season when they go on clearance.

I know this doesn't answer your question at all, but I've also noticed this trend becoming more and more popular and I don't really understand it. For anyone who has done this or is thinking about doing it - may I ask why?

:) i did it and here's why:

i saw a friend's photos from doing it and i was hooked. my husband did it with me. i love photojournalism and artsy stuff so it was just a way to have some more artsy photos of something that had to do with my wedding. like i said before, i didn't use the one i walked down the aisle in. but the photos are in a book with other wedding-related photos and i'm telling you - it's FUN! i got my hair and makeup done and felt like a model. hahaha didn't look like a model but i felt like one! :) there's just no pressure and it's sexy and fun.
