Videographers

Who all is having a videographer? Who are you using, and if you don't mind saying, how much are you paying? We are on the line about a videographer for our wedding, so just wanted to check some out.

Re: Videographers

  • I worked with a woman that now owns a videography business. Heartisrty is the name. Her name is Allison and she is super sweet. I can't recall her prices but she is usually able to work with you for whatever you may need.  I usually try to recommend her.
  • We are using Studio Z. As far as price... let's just say the video is our wedding splurge ;)

  • We didn't have one, regretably. I would recommend getting one though. There's not time that I look at our album and wish that we had hired a videographer as well. Pictures are great, but to be able to actually watch the expressions on our faces, to see everything in action, is priceless. Make this your wedding splurge, I would recommend.

  • We were really on the fence about videography too... But my husband and I are EXTREMELY glad that we hired one. The day went so fast that we can't remember any of the details. Here's another way to think about it... My cousin got married a few years back and did not have a videographer. One year after they were married, her husband's father passed away, and now her own father has terminal cancer. She told me that she regrets not having a wedding video with the toasts that their fathers gave at the reception... It would have been nice to show their children, who will never know their grandfathers. Hearing her tell this story was the main reason we hired a videographer. You don't need to go expensive, but definitely don't skip it.
  • I also am strongly for a videographer.  We used Dan Shallenberger with Poetic Cinemas, he is so wonderful and talented.  When we saw our video, we cried.

  • Thanks for the responses! After watching more videos, I've realized we can't skip it. Unfortunately, we have already splurged on my dress and our venue, but I did get an offer from a friend (who has done videos before, but never a wedding), who will do it for cheaper than a professional wedding videographer. I am going to go look at some of his stuff soon to see how well he does. I hope he's good cause I'm kind of in the mindset now that something will be better than nothing!

  • check out hatfield productions. theyre affordable. and professional so it's probably wiser than letting a friend do it.
