  I WAS WONDERING IF IT'S REALLY NECESSARY TO HAVE A WEDDING COORDINATOR FOR THE DAY-OF OR WEEKEND OF?? I FEEL AS IF IT'S NOT NEEDED FOR THE PLANNING BECAUSE THEY ARE MORE OF THE MIDDLE MAN, BUT I'VE BEEN TOYING WITH THE IDEA OF HAVING ONE FOR THE WEDDING DAY OR WEEKEND OF...IS IT WORTH IT OR A WASTE OF MONEY?

I didn't have one and everything was smooth sailing.  I made sure to make detailed schedules for EVERYONE (BP, parents, vendors, etc.) as well as a contact list of all of the vendors and parents numbers.  I think that helped organize some of the chaos.

We are not having one but i know some brides on here are, it is your personal preference if you feel like you are going to have everything planned then i would not but if you need that extra help then you can.

I am not having one because I feel like myself, wedding party, and family can handle the craziness. I can see where there is a benefit though so that you really can have a stressfree day and just show up to the wedding!

It just depends if that is something that you would want to splurge on or not!

I didn't have one.  I also printed our contact numbers for the vendors and made sure that my BMs had it just in case.  I also put my brother in law in charge of making sure there was nothing wrong.  The person in charge of my reception place was like a DOC though so that really helped me feel at ease to know that all the vendors would be coordinated by her.

we're having one. i'm way too type A to relax unless someone who is equally as type A is handling my sh!t. i'm trusting my wedding day to morgan at bendora wedding gallery. i love the ladies there and their day of package is very reasonable.

I am not having one but I do think it is worthwhile if you can afford it. That is just one thing I decided I could do without to save some $$$. Besides, I like to be in charge and I'm not sure I would be very good at deferring to someone else. I will ask my bridesmaids to help with a few small tasks that will need to be taken care of while I'm busy with other things, but I am not asking them to be responsible for anything too big because I want them to have fun too!

We aren't using one. We rented our venue for both friday and saturday for $1500....we are going to go in and have everything set up the day before. The only outside vendors we're using are catering and DJ. Both are experienced not only in their profession but with our venue in particular so I have all the confidence in the world that they can handle it! It really just depends on your situation. If we could have afforded it, I may have had one but we are on a 5k-ish budget so it was one of the first cuts!

I definitely think there is a benefit to having one.
And, we are. In our case, I am DIY-ing a LOT of our stuff and would rather have someone to set it all up and take care of it, and not worry about any of my guests being in charge of handling details and things for the wedding.

My vote is yes if you are comfortable spending the money to do it!  I am with Mrs. Owl.  I am very type A and would probably drive myself nuts the day of if I didn't have someone else who is just as type A taking care of the details.  Plus I am planning from out of town so she is very helpful.  We are using Jennifer K. from Finer Things Event Planning and she has been wonderful!
