My wedding is April 21st at 7:30 p.m. in Enid, Oklahoma. It's a fairly small town (50,000 or so people) and three large high schools in town/around the area are having their proms the same night as my wedding. I obviously already have venues, etc. but a lot of my guests might have prom-related obligations AND my little cousin, who I'm fairly close to, has her senior prom this night.
Help? Tips? Anything I should say to my family members who might ditch after the ceremony to go to prom?

In my small town prom was starting at or before that time so hopefully everyone can get their pictures of the kids before the prom and then enjoy your wedding and reception. As far as the cousin goes, I don't really have anything other than maybe you two could get ready together? That way you each get to see each other for your big nights even though you may not be together.

My daughter's senior prom is also April 21st - my wedding day as well! We scheduled the wedding for 1:00 pm since she's going to be my MOH, with the best part that all the family will be in town to take pics of her after the wedding as she gets ready for prom. We even chose a dress that she can wear to the wedding AND add remove the straps to wear to prom.
Not sure what you can do about a 7:30 wedding...except that by 7:30 the pics should have already been taken and they should be off to dinner prior to prom. I agree you should attempt to get pics with your cousin prior to the wedding! Maybe she can come to wherever you're getting dressed? She would already be in her prom dress, so it would make for some gorgeous pics! I would also make an effort to get some pics and alone time with her at the rehearsal. Your family should be able to make your wedding with no problems, unless prom starts much later there than it does at my daughter's school. And if you don't have a videographer, ask one of your family members to videotape the wedding so she can feel like she was a part of it!
