Hi Oregon brides! I have received by far the best information and advice on this site from fellow knotties, much better than my hundreds of Google searches. I have used the advice to come up with a budget and idea of what I'm looking for, so thank you, thank you, thank you!
I am looking for a venue in the Portland area that has the option of a ceremony and reception at the same place with quite a few stipulations, which has made my search pretty difficult!
150 guests Inside or at least ample access to indoor features like bathrooms, electricity for string lights and DJ Allows outside caterers and alcohol (I'm saving a lot of $$ with this option because we have a caterer who is giving us a great deal, so this is important) Provides tables and chairs Dance floor $600-$1000 budget for the venue and items above, $5K budget for venue + food + alcohol (very small budget for 150 people)
I found a great spot at the Mountain Park Recreation Center in Lake Oswego, but there's only room for a reception and I can't think of a large ceremony venue for 150 people that isn't expensive. Thought of local parks and having people stand to save the cost of renting and transporting chairs, but that seems pretty lame for the guests.
So if you have ideas on venues for ceremony + reception, or just ceremony, let me know! This should be a good challenge for you :)

Postlewait's Farm is beautiful! And I love that everything can be done in one place, that's so convenient. I would want to be able to take advantage of the grounds and have things outside because it's gorgeous! My budget only allows for a November wedding at their pricing, at which point we'd be limited to just the indoors, and the place loses a lot of its charm.

My friends had their wedding at the Colwood golf club on NE Columbia- not sure of actual pricing but I know they were on a pretty strict budget, they used their own caterers & alcohol, there's lots of room, and there's a pretty big dance floor. It was November, and pouring rain (and dark by the time we got there), so I'm not sure how the view from the banquet rooms was, but it seems to overlook the golf course, so that'd be pretty.

I had set the same budget as you, for the same number of people & the Troutdale House was just the perfect location for our wedding! So I think it could be a perfect fit for you as well :) They include A LOT for a reasonable price, including: Tables & linens Chairs Dancefloor Pool & foosball table HUGE brides room full kitchen Decorations And a LOT more!! Check it out here: http://www.thetroutdalehouse.com/services.htm
AND they let you bring in your own caterer/alcohol for no extra charge :D Also, the owners are really helpful & easy-going. I'm really happy I found them & I would definitely suggest at least taking a tour of the place. I think it would meet all your needs perfectly!
