I have a friend who is getting married this weekend. Her mother wants to give a special gift card to the priest who is doing the ceremony instead of money. The gift card doesn't have a place to write the amount and so we are wondering proper etiquette as far as including a receipt or something so the priest knows how much the card is for or not???

I have looked through posts and done online searches- any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

This is what I would do,
get one of those nice gift card holders, in addition to the card it put a card size slip of paper with something that sounds like, " while we can never put a price on joy you've helped us create, we hope that this small $xx token for *store of your choosing* will be of benefit to you. Thank you for all that you've done. sincerely mr&mrs X
