Can you explain more of what you mean by "vegas style"?

Sure...

We were planning to "elope" in Vegas now, and have a ceremony/reception for the kids in August...

So Vegas style, would be something super easy, cheap...followed up by fun. I've checked in with the local Casino's...but not sure what else I have for an option. I hope that helped!

hmmm.  I need to think about this.  Would be be opposed to a not-as-fun ceremony locale followed by a more fun reception space?  I keep thinking of Glowing Greens or cosmic bowling or something, but I doubt you'd want your ceremony there.

See if you can rent one of the dance clubs, it'll have that same energy and wouldn't be too hard to decorate. Especially if you're doing something for the over 21 crowd now, and something for the younger members later.

Thank you all for your help! I actually need something that will allow our kids (mine giving me a way, and his accpeting the "new" family"...If you have more ideas please keep them coming.

At this point were looking for something local in Portland, indoors for a quick ceremony/light recpetion...kid friendly in February! YIKES!

Thanks!
Tina

Kids and vegas are a hard theme to put together. Spirit Mountain has plenty of ballroom space for weddings, but they are expensive and really the kids cant do anything because they arent 21. I too am confused by how to combine the two? I guess if you're looking for a fun festive place for the kids too... then as mentioned before, rent a night club on an off day (like a sunday) and get them to utilize their DJ and lights and whatnot and allow kids for the day. If you can find it.

There's a reason it's never very busy.  I was in a wedding that held the reception there.  Oof.

The thoughts I've had

Glowing Greens
Ground Kontrol
Uptown Billiard Club
Great Wolf Lodge (Washington, so it'd be more of a destination, but fun!)
Voicebox Karaoke
Comedy Sportz (no idea if they'd do this, but it'd be fun and worth an ask)
OMSI
The Oregon Zoo
Oaks Park
Evergreen Aviation and Space Museum
