ANYWAYS, we are going to be married on May 12th of this year (yes, in 3 months) with the ceremony in Pittsburgh at the New Church, and the reception in Sewickley at The Edgeworth Club. We had a Sewickley florist all lined up, deposit paid, designs confirmed, etc. She had classy vision, high quality, and came highly recommended by our venue, but her prices were pretty high. I work 70 hour weeks, and flowers were not my first priortiy, so I trusted the details to the professional. Regardless, she convinced us to triple our floral budget (to $4k) for our formal wedding. We were excited with what we came up with, and so we purchased ALL of the accessories she suggested (including large black candelabras, vases, etc.)
Fast forward to today, when she hasn't returned my phone calls for over 2 months! I am NOT a high-maintenance bride, especially when it comes to the flowers. I left her a few relaxed emails, asking for a call back, over the course of the past few months. 2 weeks ago, I left one that I really needed a call back as soon as their scheduled allowed, and now last week I left a message that if they didn't call back, I had to assume that I would be receiving my deposit from them, and would need to find a new florist... STILL NOTHING!!
I don't know what happened... I am trying to be understanding that perhaps it was a family emergency or some other event, but needless to say I am freaking out... we have purchased all of these accessories, most likely lost our deposit, and now most florists are booked and/or refuse to work that weekend because it is Mother's Day...
Can anyone help with recommendations of a GREAT florist in the area that might still be available?? And would be flexible to working with these accessories... and isn't exhorbitantly priced... and can deal with a short time frame... and doesn't need a lot of input from the bride... oh dear...

Hens and Chicks on Ellsworth was great when we met with them - very creative and willing to work with us on whatever we wanted. The only reason I'm not using them is that we moved our wedding to Washington, and they don't work that far out of Washington.

If you didnt use Shaffers Flowers on beaver st. shes really good shes done flowers for me and My mother for Years, Weddings proms partys even funerals,
shes always been really good about returning our calls

I unfortunately can't use her becuase our florist is included in our venues package price, but try the Parkway Florist in Greentree. I spoke with them at a bridal show and a few times since. They are extremely helpful and have done some amazing work. They have been more helpful with my wedding then the florist we have to use!

I recently spoke with someone at Alison McGeary, who is recommended by my venue. My wedding is the exact same day as yours. If you have not found someone, you could check them out as they might still be available. I ended up going with a different florist but they were very nice to work with.
