Hi ladies

has anyone used or hear of (good or bad) patti cakes? I saw them when I was driving around Narragansett the other day.

they gave me kind of an expensive quote for the cake- but there is no delivery to the Towers.

The place looks cute and stuff but I ahven't heard anything about them.

i am going to honest - even if it's mean. haha. because that's what this is all about right?! i tried them at the bridal show at the towers last month - and the cupcakes - although displayed cute- were terrible. the cake was dry and the icing was like chomping on a stick of butter. if you want cupcakes, I recommend sweet indulgence(who we are using- in warwick) its my party(which i believe is now the newport sweet shoppe as she bought out npt choc) cupcake charlies - also in npt - you may pay some for delivery but they are the best ive had. scrumptions was like patti's - terrible icing.

Thanks for your honest opinion

actually we just sent in our contract to bakery boutique.

They did my moms 60th bday cake and everyone raved about it, we met with Deana and she really had an "idea" of what I wanted and seemed to really understand me.

Her cake was 100 less than Patti Cakes and so that basically covers the cost of delivery (75). I am going to see if shes flexible at all on her delivery cost.

I tried its my party cupcake last year and they were really delisc as well.

When I went into patti cakes last week there were only 4 cupcakes left so i assuemd they were flying off the shelves and they were so good. but there was a bride in there already having a consultation (basically she was in there bad mouthing every florist in RI and saying she was going to stop and shop for her flowers and brides that used florists were "stupid"...) so she kind of rubbed me the wrong way. I knew that they can't help what their client says but the lady there was just ya yaing her the entire time and i felt awkward so my mom and I left.

I emailed the guy and said we'd come down and try his cake and meet with him- but my fiance said enough was enough if we liked bakery boutique we should just use them.

I'm actually to hear that you ahd a negative review because now i can just tell my mom I looked them up online and they had bad reviews (she kept pushing them on me).

oh and i agree abotu scrumptions. I know they get glorious reviews and our caterer recommended them,. But I had a cake at a recent baby shower from there and the frosting was like eating heavy cream and butter.

bakery boutique i love! did you see ryan her husband on the cake boss show?! he didnt win though :( we decided not to use them because we just loved kerri and her cupcakes so much - we booked her instantly. wait the patticakes person was bad mouthing florists or the bride was? that would be pretty bad if it was the patticakes person!! glad i could help with the negative review haha and yes, scrumption =yuck

The bride was totally badmouthing all florists in general and the person at Patti Cakes was just kind of agreeing but like ya'yaing her.

But then she was like "i know right its ridiculous to spend all that money on something that DIES!"

but i was thinking, kind of like spending money on a cake you just eat.

wow - patti cakes should not be talking like that...
they are going to loose business quick - we all talk - don't they know that :)
oh well - their cakes are terrible any way and the shop is in a bad location...
you do just eat the cupcakes - i love ours - i am going to be sure to stash some away for later or def try to eat one at the reception - yeah right! haha
i always try to tell FI - in the end the album and pics are all we are going to have- maybe thats why we put so much $$ into our photog :)
