Vendor Seating

we are having a small wedding and the tent will seat approx 20 people.  we will have a guitarist, officiant, and photograher.  Do I have to use up our valuable space for their seating or can I set them up in the dining room of the house?  Would I just be able to explain our situation?

Vendors will appreciate having a moment to sneak away and chow down w/o having to make small talk.  If you did sit them in the tent with your guests, they might feel awkward!  Wait.  Maybe not the officiant.  But the officiant probably won't come.  Will they?  I don't know about the officiant.  But the guitarist and the photographer, definitely.  Haha.  Sorry, I'm scatterbrained.

I asked all of our vendors what they prefered and they picked sitting in the room.  I think if you explain your space restraints to them they will understand.

Our caterer set it up, I don't know where they sat. I do know they ate!We didn't have our officiant at the reception- I guess she would've been seated at a parent table (we had 3)?

speaking of officiant -- is it customary for them to bring their spouse?  ours has mentioned that she came to other weddings a couple of times, I didn't know how to respond.  I don't mind if she comes but again the space thing and then a 2 meals too?  Our contract says vendor meals are free (doesn't state the type of meal) but we are small and she might have left that in there as a standard contract type thing.  don't know. whatcha think?

As far as I know, you do invite the officiant's spouse also.   My brother was ours, so we had a different situation.

Yeah, we invited the officiant's wife also.  And in my experiences, the officiant is always sat with other guests, not the vendors.  That's what we're doing for our dinner.  On one hand it sucks thinking you have to pay for a full meal, but on the other hand, they have a very important role!  If it wasn't for them, you wouldn't be officially married!
