Bridal Shops - Pricing?

Hi, ladies. I live in DFW but will be in Austin for the weekend and plan on wedding dress shopping with my mom and sister-in-law. I looked around the boards and found ideas of several places that I might want to try, but I was hoping some of you could give me ideas on the price-ranges at the following stores (even if you just bought your dress there and only remember how much IT was). I'll take any help! I am trying to stay at or around $1,000 but am not opposed to trying on some gowns that are slightly more expensive, and searching for pre-owned later if needed. Here is a list of some of the stores I'm considering:
  • Unbridaled
  • Signature Bridal (Bee Caves)
  • Blush Bridal
  • Alexia Gavela
  • Austin Bridal & Formal
  • The Bridesmaid's Store
Any pricing details or additional suggestions of stores is much appreciated! Thanks in advance.

Re: Bridal Shops - Pricing?

  • Have you checked into Sunday's Bridal?  They are in Keller, TX and have a gorgeous collection of dresses that are discounted 50-80%.  I thought about going there when I was searching, but ended up finding my dress before I made the trip.  The have a ton of gorgeous dresses on their site.
  • Kara, no I hadn't heard of Sunday's before. Thank you for the suggestion. I will have to check them out.

However, my main reason for this post is that I'd really like to be able to go shopping with my sis-in-law in Austin. With her work and baby she's really unable to make the trip to DFW, and I'd really prefer to have her along since I value her opinion. :)

  • Signature Bridal is one that I would highly recommend.  They are wonderful there, have a large selection of dresses (several around your price range) and the store is very comfortable.  They also have sample dresses that start around $300 if I remember correctly.

Alexia Gavela is ok but they aren't as friendly there.  They have some nice dresses, but it's a smaller store so that little amount of dresses that they do have are squeezed onto the racks very tightly together.  They also recommend that you order their dresses 10 to 11 months in advance.

Austin Bridal and Formal has some of the best pricing that I have seen in Austin for new dresses.  They have a lot of dresses and the ladies there are very nice.  It was a little warm when I went in there, but that was in June last year so hopefully it's cooler around this time of year.

I haven't been to Blush or Unbridaled, but I've heard that both are on the pricier side.  Don't take my word for it and if I were you, I would just call and ask them what their price range on dresses is.

I would definitely make some appointments and plan on each one being at least an hour and half long.  Good luck and have fun!

  • I got my and my bridesmaid dresses at the bridesmaid store and they are very reasonable in pricing. They have bridal samples starting at 99 and carry many of the same brand as other stores in town. I got my bridal gown for around 700 less than they charge for the same exact dress at another bridal boutique in town. Plus they have tons and tons of bridesmaid dresses! Good luck :)
  • I bought my dress at Signature Bridal as well and they are amazing.  They have a large selection and the price ranges are well within your ideal.  My consultant is Rachel...she may be out on maternity leave right now but all of the women there are super friendly.  HTH
  • Thanks for all of your advice ladies! Looks like I will definitely have to try Signature Bridal, The Bridesmaid Store AND Austin Bridal and Formal if we have time. :)

Ystaalenburg, thanks for the estimate on time! I hadn't even though about it, but would have had no idea on how to space my appointments!

  • My girls got their bridesmaids dresses from Belle Saisson and Tracy has been extremly helpful to us. Several friends of mine have bought their wedding dresses there as well. The BM dresses were on sale for $125.

I had a horrible experience at Alfred Angelo but ultimately I found a gorgeous dress at David's in north Austin (Candice was my consultant) for $499.
  • We had great luck at the Bridesmaids' Store.  Our dresses came in on time, just as we ordered, and fit perfectly.  The sales staff were helpful and unobtrusive.
