Hi all im Aimee and we are getting married on April 6th 2012. Far away I know but this date is very special and thats the first time it falls close to a weekend. We live just North of Austin by Ft. Hood Military Base. He proposed on Valentines Day where he took me to breakfast and then excused himself and came back with balloons, flowers, chocolates, a poem he wrote asking me to marry him, and the ring. Hi everyone! FI and I are getting married on 5.29.2011. We got engaged at Disneyland in January so it is a LONG engagement but it is going by more quickly than I expected. Most of our guests and our families live out of state and we live in Dallas due to my job, so it is basically a destination wedding for us, but we are in Austin around once a month (and more often during football season). The wedding colors are dark purple and silver. Our vendors so far are:

Hello. I have been poking around the Austin board for some time now. Very active on my month and year board.

We live together in H-town. I go to university for my bachelors in photography (I got a very late start with going to university). He works in town for an airline. He proposed to me on our 8th anniversary (October 3rd) on a plane at the airport (it was just us and a couple of friends on the airplane). Colors are Black and White with accents of oranges and blues.

Hello all! My name is Heather and I am brand new to this! My FI is from Austin and I am from the Amarillo area. We are currently living in the Amarillo area. We are newly engaged; he proposed to me on July 3rd on Mt. Bonnell overlooking Lake Austin. It was a total surprise to me. Hello, ladies. Greetings from Kansas City!
Wonderful fiance & I met at ACL in 2003 (yes, among all 60,000 peeps). I was living in KC & he was there with friends from Baltimore. Fast forward a few cities & many years later and we're finally tying the knot. Given that our family & friends are spread out, we decided to make it a "destination" wedding of sorts in the city where it all began--Austin.
Proposal was priceless and included a very large marquee at a historic theatre in downtown Kansas City in October 2009 (see below). Given long-distance planning, full-time jobs & both being in grad school, we're having a long engagement & getting married on Friday, April 29, 2011.
Planning from afar has been somewhat tricky, but was become a great way to determine which vendors are or are not responsive (and I'll be happy to share some of my stories). Long way & many decisions to go, but here's where we stand today:

LOCATION | CATERING: Hamilton Twelve (ceremony + reception)

FLORAL: Wild Poppy

PHOTOGRAPHY: Ku Photography (Tony Ku)

PLANNER: Rebecca Bonura (Wild Poppy)

DRESS: Bridal Extraordinaire (Kansas City); [wearing a Matthew Christopher gown that I found for about 80% off original price!]

BRIDESMAID DRESSES: Ann Taylor [same color, but different styles]

GROOMS & GROOMSMEN ATTIRE: Jos. A. Bank [was far cheaper to purchase new suits than rent]

HOTEL: TBD (if you need assistance, I would highly recommend working through the Austin Convention & Visitors Bureau. They've been amazing in helping us with lodging, given that all 100 guests will be flying in from out of town)

COLORS: Green & yellow; think shabby chic/vintage, with a touch of Amy Butler fabric. Going for outdoor garden, casual feel.

SAVE THE DATES: etsy; Cheerupcherup

INVITATIONS: etsy; Blackbird Press (letterpress)

CAKES: Doing a dessert buffet that includes Austin Cake Balls, cakes & pastries from Whole Foods, Italian cookies from Mandola’s Italian Market, etc.

STILL TBD (although very close on most of these): Rehearsal dinner; hair/makeup; ceremony music; DJ; officiant; lodging; transportation; linens, etc.
