My 23 year old male cousin (who I am EXTREMELY close to) was going to buy an engagement ring for his girlfriend today, and she called him last night and broke up with him.
So yeah, that's what we're dealing with right now.

    That sucks =/. On the bright side, at least she broke it off before he got the ring and proposed.

    How awful! Agreed with shishigami26 that at least he hadn't bought the ring or anything yet. I'm assuming they were pretty serious if he was planning the proposal though, and granted I don't know either of them or any of the details, but...over the phone? Really?

    Well they are sort of long distance right now (Fort Worth to McKinney), and he just got back from North Dakota visiting family. He just graduated, moved to FW,  and is starting his big boy job on Monday, so it's a lot going on for him.
    They broke up once before because he wouldn't propose, and all of her friends are getting married. She's kind of all over the place. She's been out of college for a year and has been working at Nordstrom (presumably waiting to get married and be a stay at home wife).
    I like her but I really feel like she was pushing him into this and being erratic.
    What's weird is last night she told him she had been praying and thought she was supposed to go be a missionary in Africa. Which is fine, but it is very out of left field and I think they just both need to grow up. Like, a lot.
    It just sucks breaking up no matter what, although I THINK he knows it's for the best.
