it's a good thing just really bad timing.

So we currently live together and He will be moving to Madison March 1, were getting married May 19 (he will basically come home for the weekend to get married and go back), and I cannot move until August (because of schooling commitments)

So we will not live together for the months before our wedding or the months following our wedding... and really with these new changes I probably won't even see him very much.  I know it could be worse or further... but it still sorta stinks.

Anyone have any advice?  I am struggling with it and it hasnt even happened yet.

How do you go from living with him to basically never seeing him.. and the only thing that changed is you got married! :)

Any advice as far as what? My FI is gone all the time for his job in the Navy. I haven't seen him in 5 weeks (aside from skype). I don't know, you just deal. Texts, phone calls, skype...And it appears you're in the same state. Can you do a few weekend visits?

That is a bummer, but just remember, each tough spot the two of you can get through together makes you both stronger.  My sister & her husband have been married 2.5 years and lived together about 0.5 years of that due to school/jobs with the same living situation (Milwaukee & Madison).  It's only a 1.5 hour drive, so day trips aren't out of the question and weekends should just be a given one of you will make the trip.  It's really not that bad (I did it myself in college).  I have another friend whose boyfriend got deployed to Afghanistan and in the month before leaving he proposed to her.  They spent that year of their engagement apart with only 1 visit when he came home for his 2 week break midway through.  She planned their wedding solo without seeing him almost an entire year!  So, it could be MUCH worse - take comfort in that.  It is a bummer nonetheless, but technology makes it so easy today.

Be grateful that he's not in the military. It'll help you gain some perspective.

Well try and keep yourself busy. I live with my FI and I had a hard time when he went to Vegas for 4 days for his bachelor party.  I missed him sooooo much, sorry I am not helping.  I definitely sympathize though, I would be bummed.

My FI and I have been together for 5 years, and 3 of those have been long distance (currently he lives 1,000 miles away). We see each other for one weekend each month. We call each other when we wake up and go to bed, so it can "seem like" he's here. Skype is also great.

Even though it sucks sometimes that he's not here, I'm extremely thankful he's not in the military ... I couldn't imagine not seeing him for months on end.

This is such a GREAT idea. If you download Skype on both of your computers and you have internet access, you can video chat live!
