Band, iPod, DJ question
Get music inspiration for everything from the rehearsal dinner to the final song of your reception.
We have a band scheduled to play at the reception. We were planning on using an iPod when the band takes breaks. Now I am feeling overwhelmed with the possibility of things going wrong with the iPod.

We have a band scheduled to play at the reception. We were planning on using an iPod when the band takes breaks. Now I am feeling overwhelmed with the possibility of things going wrong with the iPod. I am now considering getting a DJ also. What are your experiences, opinions, advice... Thanks!

I would think any decent band would provide music during the breaks even if its pre-recorded stuff.  You should talk to your band about what they usuallty do during breaks.

Another option is to arrange with the band to always have at least one person playing.  This way during breaks there is still some light instrumental music.  The band just has to rotate when they take breaks.

I do NOT think you need a band and a DJ.  Hiring both is overkill in my opinion.

I don't think you need to hire both a DJ and a band.  Like Mimmer said, most bands will provide their own music during their breaks, so I wouldn't be too concerned about it.

Just about any band will have break music on an ipod/mp3 player. No DJ needed. My band carries a wide variety of break music. That's why a band has the ability to have great live energetic music and the feel of DJ recorded music all at once!!
