So, I'm not a California native, and I grew up where lilacs are totally abundant in the spring and you can basically pick tons of them anywhere... for free. I'm marrying a Californian though, in California, and I'm not familiar with the lilac situation. =) Does anyone know if they grow there, in the Ventura area in particular? And possibly a contact of someone I could get them from? I haven't had any luck so far, just "lilac-colored" roses. Thanks!

Lilacs definitely grow in CA, at least in Northern CA. I'd speak with mulitple florists though, I'm sure you'd be able to find some!
