For those of you that have done/will be doing your own flowers, or are just really creative & know your flowers, I need some advice.
I'm thinking of doing my own centerpieces, but I'm not sure when to actually arrange them? My wedding's on a saturday & will need to have these arrangments dropped off at my hall Friday afternoon. Im thinking of ordering from Sams Club because I've heard great things about their flowers & they're very reasonably priced. The website suggests to have the flowers delivered at least 2 days before the event. So this means I should have them on Thursday, but will that leave me enough time to arrange them? I'm also worried about the chance of receiving a bad shipment even though Sams Club will replace/refund you if your unsatisfied.
What do you guys think? Will I be okay doing them all day Thursday? Ill need about 25 centerpieces, and Im thinking of ordering dendrobium orchids and putting them in a tall tower vase. Not an extravagent centerpiece, but still would like to have enough time doing them. Thank you in advance for any feedback!

I had my flowers for my DIY centerpieces delivered 3 days before, not 2 days before. They will come with flower food, you will need big buckets or containers to put the flowers in. Give them a fresh cut, put them in a container with flower food and clean water, and you should be fine. We kept mine in the cool basement last August and they opened perfectly. It took me about 3 hrs to do 10 centerpieces.
I did my centerpieces on the day before my Saturday wedding and took them to the venue before the rehearsal. The venue had a refrigerator, but that really wasn't needed.
They will be fine.

This may or may not give you some insight. You may be better off to order them through a florist in your town and examine them when you pick them up. From experience, I know that dendrobiums can be more delicate and require cooler temps before the ceremony. If you decide to order them yourself, order a couple extra just in case, cut and get into flower food and water like Su-n-Kevin mentioned right away. If you are doing a taller vase, you may need a foam hodler for the top and wet floral foam to hold them in place. All things to consider when you DIY ;) Best of luck!

When you order in bulk online, the flowers come very very dry. They will need at the very minimum a solid day in buckets with food re-hydrating. You will need time the day they arrive to open them all, remove the guard petals, cut the stems, and soak them. If you need to have them done by Friday afternoon, I would do them Friday morning and have them arrive Wed.
