When my hs bf picked the Marine Corps over me.. funny how I'm now married to a Marine huh? in my defense I was 16 and I was pretty sure that if he went in he would get deployed (he did) and he would die (I'm happy to say he did not). I was just way to young to deal with having a LDR.
3. Describe your Dream Valentine's Day Date
Fancy, yummy dinner and someone treating me like the Princess that I think I am

4. First Kiss. How old were you?who was it with? Was it good or bad?
It was in 8th grade so I was probably 12 or 13, and it was at a dance. It was not great because I'd had oral surgery earlier in the week so my mouth hurt and I didn't really want someone else's tongue in there..
5. How old were you the first time you fell in love? What was his name?
HS bf. His name was John and he was a senior when I was a freshman (18 & 13 is quite the age difference..) I swore I would marry him.. Glad I didn't though. He's an ass now.
6. Your most memorable Valentine's Day?
2 years ago when I took then FI to the Airport to leave for 24 months in Japan.. It was not great.
7. Your very first boyfriend?
Um.. 4th grade? It was obviously not that serious..
8. How are you (if you are) celebrating Valentine's Day this year?
If we do anything at all which is not likely, it will be later in the month.
9. How do you feel about Valentine's Day proposals?
I think they are kind of cheesy.. No offense to anyone who was proposed to on Valentine's Day..
10. Favorite Valentine's Day gift/card you've ever given out or gotten?
H got me a hot pink rain coat and rain boots my first Valentine's Day in WA.. I like useful & thoughtful gifts!

1. Tell us where you met your SO. Well, the first time we ever spoke was on the phone the summer before 6th grade. But I don't distinctly remember "meeting" him because it was in middle school.
2. Your first heartbreak. My 17th birthday...I had been seeing this older guy (22 I think?) that summer, and on my birthday in September, he ended things via voicemail on my cell phone. I don't think he knew it was my birthday. But who ends things in a voicemail?
3. Describe your Dream Valentine's Day Date I don't have one, because I think V-Day is silly.
4. First Kiss. How old were you? Who was it with? Was it good or bad? It was 7th grade, I was 13, he was 12. He was my best friend. I was super nervous, but once we got into it, I can't say that it was bad! And we stayed friends w/o awkwardness for the rest of middle school (then he went to a different high school).
5. How old were you the first time you fell in love? What was his name? Jared, my first boyfriend. We started dating the summer before my senior year of high school, until February of my senior year. Took me a long time to get over him.
6. Your most memorable Valentine's Day? I guess last year w/ FI. We put wine in juice bottles and walked along the beach (it was in the 60s that day). Then we went home, got a little dressed up, and went out for sushi at a place we had never been. It is now our favorite sushi place!
7. Your very first boyfriend? If we're talking cutesie elementary boyfriend, then I was in 3rd grade. And he was my "boyfriend" for over a year. And we said "I love you" and he made me beaded necklaces. It was awesome.
8. How are you (if you are) celebrating Valentine's Day this year? I wouldn't celebrate, but FI is the hopeless romantic in this relationship. I will be making him my homemade seafood alfredo lasagna, homemade chocolate, drink some wine, and I got a new cute little piece from VS :)
9. How do you feel about Valentine's Day proposals? I think V-day is silly, so V-day proposals are kinda cheesy. No offense to anyone who had a V-day proposal, but really any holiday proposal is sorta cheesy IMO.
10. Favorite Valentine's Day gift/card you've ever given out or gotten? I can't really think of one. ETA: Can't believe I almost forgot this: my dad used to get me and my sisters a rose every year for V-day when I was younger!

1. Tell us where you met your SO. I guess we "met" in a bar at a friend's happy hour, but we didn't speak past "hi nice to meet you." He went to school with my bff's husband so we ended up seeing each other again at a party.
2. Your first heartbreak. Hm. Actual heartbreak? Probably my most serious non-H relationship, we dated for two years in college. He was amazing, just bad timing.
3. Describe your Dream Valentine's Day Date oh oh! 7 course tasting menu with wine pairing at a fancy restaurant. I buy new shoes and he wears a tie.
4. First Kiss. How old were you?who was it with? Was it good or bad? Ha! Terrible!!! I was 16, with my MAJOR crush, who incidentally is one of my dearest friends to this day. I was SO. SCARED. hehe and then his mom kept sending his little sister down to the basement "to play" so it was awkward.
5. How old were you the first time you fell in love? What was his name? His name was Steve, I was 18. He had purple hair and a tongue ring.
6. Your most memorable Valentine's Day? Honestly, couldn't tell you!
7. Your very first boyfriend? Technically first kiss guy. It lasted 6 days. Be jealous.
8. How are you (if you are) celebrating Valentine's Day this year? SJB convinced me to make a heart-shaped funfetti cake for H.
9. How do you feel about Valentine's Day proposals? I'd never dream of judging someone's proposal.
10. Favorite Valentine's Day gift/card you've ever given out or gotten? I'm a sucker for flowers. I got red tulips one year and it was divine.

On a school bus rented to go to a Bills game. We had season tickets in a group together, and it was the home opener. We met because we ended up across from each other on the bus and then hung out all day at the game and after. He text me 2 days later, and then you can figure where it went from there.

True story, my first memory of H is him peeing in a cup on the back of a school bus. Clearly it was love!

2. Your first heartbreak.

A guy I dated my junior and senior year of HS who was 4 years older than me. He would constantly stop talking to me and get back with his ex. Then he would come back to me and I would take him back no issues. Man I was dumb. He gave me trust issues for a while.

3. Describe your Dream Valentine's Day Date

Having H home to just cook a nice dinner together with wine and relax.

4. First Kiss. How old were you?who was it with? Was it good or bad?

Technically I was 5 and it was with the neighbor next door behind the couch. But then after that I was 13. It was with my boyfriend at the time (who I think is in jail now, I picked winners when I was younger!). It was alright from what I remember.

5. How old were you the first time you fell in love? What was his name?

The first time I "thought" I was in love was a boyfriend in college. His name was Jake. At the time I really thought it was love, but then you grow up and realize you don't always know what love is until you really find it.

6. Your most memorable Valentine's Day?

Last year was more funny than anything. I was bummed because I hadn't gotten my gift in the mail from H yet, and was just lonely. Then 2 friends of mine from E kept saying "check your porch, maybe it's there" and went on and on because I wouldn't go look. They had sent me flowers too!

7. Your very first boyfriend?

7th grade for a week. He is now one of my absolute best friends and has been since high school.

8. How are you (if you are) celebrating Valentine's Day this year?

My parents will be here visiting (yay!) so my dad will cook my mom and I an awesome dinner.

9. How do you feel about Valentine's Day proposals?

Kinda cheesy.

10. Favorite Valentine's Day gift/card you've ever given out or gotten?

I LOVE H's gift this year. i just got it yesterday, and it's really really sweet and heartfelt.

We met on my 19th birthday. My ex boyfriend and I had just broken up. FI was friends with my sister and her BF and he had come over to our house to pick them up for something. He could tell I was feeling down, so he offered me a shoulder rub and turned on the charm. The rest is history.

2. Your first heartbreak.
Probably when I was 17. I had been dating this guy for a couple months and then he pretty much just fell off the face of the earth and I never saw him again. Oh well, he was a d-bag anyway.

3. Describe your Dream Valentine's Day Date
Skydiving with FI. And then afterwards re-creating the night he proposed with a walk on the beach at sunset, follwed by ice cream and back home for more fun. Or maybe a weekend getaway somewhere.

4. First Kiss. How old were you?who was it with? Was it good or bad?
Hmmm......I think my first kiss wasn't until I was 16. It was with my best guy friend at the time. That awkward phase where we were stuck between best friends and not knowing if we wanted more. Eh, I would say it was a "cute" kiss. Not bad.

5. How old were you the first time you fell in love? What was his name?
The first time I truly THOUGHT I was in love was when I was 17. With the guy that fell of the face of the planet. His name was Andy.

6. Your most memorable Valentine's Day?
Last year. I flew out to visit FI and we went on a whale and dolphin watching "cruise" in San Diego. It was awesome. Then we got dressed up and went out for steak.

7. Your very first boyfriend?
I didn't have my very first boyfriend until I was 17. He was 100% redneck. I can't remember what I saw in him, I think I just wanted to get that first boyfriend thing over with. Our first date he took me ice fishing and brought me chocolate covered cherries. Don't get me wrong, I love ice fishing being that I'm from MN, but it was just awkward.

8. How are you (if you are) celebrating Valentine's Day this year?
FI and I will be celebrating with a romantic movie date via skype. I'm sending him a little something in the mail (a package full of socks, funny underwear, pop rocks, swedish fish, popcorn, our favorite white cheddar popcorn salt, and some naughty things). And I may or may not be receiving flowers. We shall see!

9. How do you feel about Valentine's Day proposals?
Whatever floats your boat. If V-Day holds some kind of special significance for you, then by all means go for it.

10. Favorite Valentine's Day gift/card you've ever given out or gotten?
Probably our whale watching cruise last year. I had never seen whales and dolphins up close before, so I thought it was so cool. It was really special and the fact that we actually got to spend it together for once!

I don't have one, so I'm skipping this question.

2. Your first heartbreak.
Sophomore year of college, we had been planning our wedding for after my graduation, ddate set, dress already bought and I found out he was cheating on me. He said "I still want to marry you, just have to get her out of my system." That was the end of us.

3. Describe your Dream Valentine's Day Date
Making a really nice dinner together and then curling up on the couch for a romantic comedy (aka chick flick)

4. First Kiss. How old were you?who was it with? Was it good or bad?
This might sound bad, but I got good at avoiding kiss attempts, so my first kiss was when I was 17, he had been my best friend since 8th grade and we decided to try dating. (Bad idea)

5. How old were you the first time you fell in love? What was his name?
18, Andy - the previously mentioned heartbreak.

6. Your most memorable Valentine's Day?
Kindergarten, I was sick and couldn't go to school and was devastated that I was missing my first valentine's day party. My dad came home early from work with a stuffed bea rand some candy for me (and roses and chocolates for my mom). Haven't had a Valentine's day worth remembering since.

7. Your very first boyfriend?
Jeremy - he was 16 and lived in Minnesota and I was 14 and lived in Iowa and we saw each other once a month church youth group things.

8. How are you (if you are) celebrating Valentine's Day this year?
I might take my daughter out for tacos and fried ice cream (her favorite)

9. How do you feel about Valentine's Day proposals?
Proposals are as individual as each person is, so if it's special to you, then it's the perfect time.

10. Favorite Valentine's Day gift/card you've ever given out or gotten?
Um.....The one from my dad in kindergarten I guess. It's the only gift I've ever gotten and never gotten a memorable card.

Kickball. It was September 7th, 2008 and I was sitting on the grass between the Washington Monument and the White House waiting for my new kickball team to all arrive, and this tall handsome guy walks up. We became best friends, and on October 26th, he kissed me!

2. Your first heartbreak.
End of my freshman year of college. My first love fell out of love with me, and it hurt so bad. He didn't want to hurt me, so he basically ignored me until I broke up with him (like that doesn't hurt, idiot). I cried for days, and then got angry and got in the best shape of my life so he'd eat his heart out when I got back to school. Which he did. I really need some anger now, since I've gotten chubby being in domestic bliss!

3. Describe your Dream Valentine's Day Date
Don't do Valentines. It makes no sense to me, a designated day to be thoughtful. I'd rather he surprise me with a getaway any other day/weekend of the year because then it's because HE wants to, not because there's some holiday telling him he should. Regardless, I want him to make plans to take me away somewhere to a cabin with a jacuzzi tub by a fireplace.

I was in kindergarten, and it was at my best friend Matt's birthday party. I was the only girl, and the boys wouldn't let me play soccer with them, so Matt taught me how to 'roundhouse kick' instead (he was taking karate, and would years later become a black belt). He leaned over and kissed me on the cheek, and all the boys saw through the window and we got teased so much. He was my friend for years, though he passed away in 2009 from leukemia.

I was 18, his name was Ben, and I met him in Spanish class my first day of college.

6. Your most memorable Valentine's Day?
None.

7. Your very first boyfriend?
Matt, the kindergarten boyfriend. Realistically? This guy Alex Kennedy in 8th grade. He kissed like a fish with a horse's tongue.

Nope.

9. How do you feel about Valentine's Day proposals?
I don't judge anyone else's proposal. It's what's right for the couple. Mine was perfect for us, though I'm sure it wouldn't be for everyone!

Candy in elementary school. Probably the last time I celebrated - it was never my thing as a teenager or adult.

Most of you know this lil fact, but no one IRL really does, except for my BFF. We met on Yahoo personals LOL!!! He was the first person I took any interest in, and I was his second. (He met another girl who tried to con him into "investing" in her art show LMAO!) Anyway, we officially met after a week of talking online and on the phone til weee hours in the morning. I wasn't really THAT interested in a relationship (*cough cough* SLUT...) Butttt... after a week of dating, he put his foot down and basically told me I was his girlfriend. Obviously all worked out well in the end!
2. Your first heartbreak.
Ohhhh ladies. So much heartbreak in my life. I guess my first REAL heartbreak was with the guy I lost my V card to. He was cheating on me, a lot, but I still stayed. It wasn't until he physically attacked me that I canned his ass and never looked back. That was seriously so hard. I'd like to say that was the only heartbreak I've suffered, but from then on, it was a vicious cycle of bad guys and hurt me. It wasn't until my last relationship (my ex fiance who left me on Christmas day, through text message. Oy...) that I decided to look for a different type of guy. Which led me to the interwebz... which led me to Mr. Cab.
3. Describe your Dream Valentine's Day Date
No such thing for me. Nothing will ever EVER top the date where he proposed to me. We are not the romantic type, so that was more than enough for me. The only thing that I think would top it is announcing a pregnancy on Valentines day. Yup, that would be it.

I was 14, and it was with my best friends older brother who was in High School (Kara, he was Filipino! :) ) We were at their house, I was spending the night (*cough cough* SLUT...) and we had our first "mack". It was DISCUSTINGGGG. I felt like I had my face washed by his mouth! Whatever, he was my very first boyfriend, so I put up with it. That's all we did, kiss. He dumped me 3 months later because he "had to focus on basketball". Nice.
5. How old were you the first time you fell in love? What was his name?
I was 17, and his name was Luis. He was the guy that took my V card when I was 18, and it was all hearts and puppy dogs and rainbows after that. But then he cheated and beat me, so that didn't last HA HA!
6. Your most memorable Valentine's Day?
My now H took me to Disneyland on our 3rd date, because he wanted to be the "only guy to ever take you to Disneyland on such a special day". I was like OK CHEESEBALL! But it really was awesome :) He got us a swanky hotel (*cough cough* SLUT...) and our relationship became official in his eyes that night.
7. Your very first boyfriend?
First boyfriend was my first kiss. His name was Edward, he was Filipino, and was really really cute. We are still friends to this day on FB. I ran into him a few years ago, he looks the same! Nice guy, he's married and is a doctor. Obviously his basketball career didn't pan out ;)
8. How are you (if you are) celebrating Valentine's Day this year?
Nothing Valentines night, even though it's our 3 yr anniversary, but the following weekend we are going to the restaurant in where he proposed to me. It's a fancy place, and I am going to get yummy steak.
9. How do you feel about Valentine's Day proposals?
I told H he better not propose to me on Valentines day. Whatta brat I am :) It's just not my style.
10. Favorite Valentine's Day gift/card you've ever given out or gotten?
Some pretty earrings from H. He has a really good feel for my style, he has never given me a bad gift.

V-day 2010, he brought a HUGE rose arrangement and this beautiful heart pendant necklace along with a stuffed puppy, afterwards we went to Dave and Busters and had a BLAST! :D (he won't admit it, but I beat him at the race cars) :P

Cody...oh boy, he was a cutie. That was in my freshman year of high school :) he just got married

1. Tell us where you met your SO. At a Halloween party that was technically on Nov. 1st. I thought he was so hot and couldn't stop talking about him to our mutual friend.
2. Your first heartbreak. Probably when the guy I'd dated most of Junior year left for college and broke up with me. I was inconsolable. I was so lucky to have the most awesome friend who would pick me up when he got off work and we would go to McCallister's, eat a brownie cake and drive around singing along to Avril Lavigne and Tori Amos.
3. Describe your Dream Valentine's Day Date I really would love to have some fabulous Italian food. And snow with a fire in the fireplace. And jewelry. I'm cheesy like that (but, to be fair, I like jewelry just as much on a Tuesday and I do on Valentines).
4. First Kiss. How old were you?who was it with? Was it good or bad? Story that I tell most people: I was 14, I think, he was 16 and the totally fiiine soccer player older brother of a guy in my class. It was pretty good, I was totally into him. True fax: All feelings above, but I was 14 and he was my 23 year old teacher. Hot as hell. Australian.
5. How old were you the first time you fell in love? What was his name? Ah, Philip. English. Three weeks into college, I didn't really know a soul and was 10 hours from home, thinking about transferring to Chicago where I had friends. Met the director of a theater troupe on campus and ended up pinch-hitting, as one of their actresses had dropped out. Philip was also in the play and we fell down next to each other rehearsing a scene and we were together for the next three years. Until he came back from Spring Break with his family and told me he wanted a break. While we were living together. I did the pathetic thing and tried to keep him, later found out he was cheating on me with a girl from work. They're married now.
6. Your most memorable Valentine's Day? I don't think I've ever had one that was really memorable. I mean, I've gone to restaurants, and could probably think of the gifts I've been given, but nothing really striking. Oh, except that 2 years ago FI gave me the most ridiculous stuffed bear. It's probably 4 feet tall and I hate it but can't get rid of it because it would hurt his feelings.
7. Your very first boyfriend? Technically Patrick, when I was 12. We talked on the phone for hours every night. He's still a really good friend. And still homosexual.
8. How are you (if you are) celebrating Valentine's Day this year? I will be watching the dog shows on USA with Archie. And I'll probably get take-out from my favorite Thai place.
9. How do you feel about Valentine's Day proposals? A little cheesy. While they were always sweet, it's part of why I hated waiting tables on VDay.

9. How do you feel about Valentine's Day proposals? Honestly? I think its a little overplayed. I can see how guys get the idea thats what they should do, and to each couple their own, but I just wouldn't want one - the whole Valentines Day thing is really a little too overplayed for me - there are plenty of other perfect days for a proposal and days to be extra nice not just Valentines day.
10. Favorite Valentine's Day gift/card you've ever given out or gotten? FI's deployed Valentines day box. It was stuffed full of his favorite snacks and candy, it had confetti hearts that exploded when opened, it had home made cookies, some funny movies, boxers, a sparkly light up pen - tons of stuff. It was so much fun to mail and put together.

1. Tell us where you met your SO. At our local gun club. I met him there when I was 10. He was 16. I thought he was a huge nerd. He joined the army, left for Ft. Bragg, deployed, and came back. Found me on myspace and asked me if I remembered him. We met up at the gun club to shoot and the rest is history!

2. Your first heartbreak. Minor heartbreak- 5th grade. I asked a boy out and he said "sure." Then watched the clock and five seconds later said "Ok, I'm dumping you." Serious heartbreak- 10th grade. This boy and I were definitely flirting all the time we both knew we liked each other but never made it "official" then he started dating some other girl.

3. Describe your Dream Valentine's Day Date- Right now, just anywhere out of the house would be nice. We've been limiting our date nights and "fun" because of the wedding budget, but I'd really like to start going out more often.

4. First Kiss. How old were you?who was it with? Was it good or bad? 18. It was with a guy I "kind of" dated before FI. I wouldn't call it dating for numerous reasons. It wasn't a bad kiss, but it wasn't one of my proudest moments. I really don't see what I ever saw in this guy.

6. Your most memorable Valentine's Day? I honestly don't have one. All Valentine's Day's are just like any other day for me.

Breaking up with my first BF. We were together for almost 3 years, and one day I realized we had grown apart. Not to mention that I had just met FI again right around that time (even though we weren't even flirting then!), and then I found out he had cheated on me.

3. Describe your Dream Valentine's Day Date
I'm not a big V-Day person, but my dream date would involve a delicious dinner at a restaurant in town, complete with wine of course. And then cuddling on the couch and watching movies... Maybe with a foot or back rub thrown in there too! :)

I was 16 and at a friend's party. I had a little too much fun that night... but the kiss really sucked, it was like kissing a wet vacuum. Yeah, gross.

18, his name was Miles. He was my first real boyfriend, and we're still decent friends.

Hmm... that would be either the time 3ft of snow in freaking MS kept my flight grounded so I didn't get to see FI... or the one Valentines Day I've actually spent with him, it consisted of me puking all night. What lovely memories.

My daddy sends me and my sister a single rose every year for as long as I can remember. My other favorite would be the year that the snow kept me from visiting FI, within the day he had flowers, chocolate, and a teddy bear sent to my house. It was sweet since I didn't get to see him!

1. Tell us where you met your SO. I was 3 hours from home at Hershey Park for my dad's work picnic. DH was also at Hershey Park with his dad, uncle, and cousin. We ended up on the same raft on one of those rapids rides. We made fun of eachother. A week later he got on my school bus. His dad had just been stationed as a recruiter in town.

2. Your first heartbreak. It didn't involve a human. I was 10 and my grandparents' had a cow that rejected her calf. I spent a week going to their farm everyday to feed the calf, play with it, pet it, etc. One day I went in and found him dead. It literally broke my heart because I got so attached.

3. Describe your Dream Valentine's Day Date I don't usually do Valentine's Day but I wouldn't mind ordering in Chinese and watching a few movies.
4. First Kiss. How old were you?who was it with? Was it good or bad? It was a boy named Bryan. I was 12. It wasn't anything special. It was just a peck on the lips.
5. How old were you the first time you fell in love? What was his name? I was the nerdy girl in school which aparently (according to DH) made me intimidating. At 16, DH was my first boyfriend and my first love. I wouldn't say I really LOVED him til well after that though.

6. Your most memorable Valentine's Day? DH has been gone for a lot of Valentine's Days so we just don't do Valentine's Day. One year in college my friend held the door open for some kid and he gave her chocolates. That's pretty memorable for me because we were both pretty shocked.
