My boyfriend and I have been looking for rings, and I found one at a chain jewelers that I loved. . . but it was way more than I could ever accept to pay for a ring, about $5,000!! I love the ring but I will not pay that price for it. I have been looking online and I have found almost the exact same ring on Amazon.com for about half the price!! That's exciting but I'm a little worried that the quality will not be the same as the chain store's ring... Does anyone have any inside knowledge on this or if I need to be a little more cautious? I'm lost and any help would be much appreciated... Thank you :)

Can you post a link?

I haven't made any significant purchases on Amazon, but I would check the seller's feedback and return policy before buying.

Chain stores do bump up their prices, but I'd be leery of buying from a random seller on Amazon.  Is it a seller with a good reputation?  Is it from Amazon itself?  What's the return policy?

Post links, I'll give you some feedback!

FWIW - FI bought my diamond online from a small jeweler in Georgia.  They had a very good return policy if it didn't appraise well or if he didn't like it.  Then he bought the setting from Zales' website, which also had a good return policy.  Both purchases worked out really well, and he saved so much money by buying the diamond from a "local" jeweler.

If we had more patience, I think we would have looked into getting a setting custom made because I couldn't find many palladium settings on other sites besides Zales.  (Yes we did most of the ring looking online.)

If it's actually from Amazon, you would be able to return it minus shipping costs if you don't like it.

If it's an Amazon marketplace seller, then I would be much more cautious.

For it to be actually from Amazon, it should say "Ships from and sold by Amazon.com." Amazon itself has very good return policies, and I've never had an issue.

I wonder if this is the same company as the one on amazon.  Check it out and see if you can locate the ring from amazon on there and contact them or call them and ask them if there are the same sellers as the one on amazon.

I think it actually doesn't seem like too-risky of a purchase.  Buy it with a credit card so that if there are any issues you have the protection of your CC company.  I'd get it appraised as soon as you get it to make sure it's the correct specs.

The only thing I wouldn't like is that it's not a photo of the actual ring, just a representation.  However, my ring turned out even prettier in person.

It looks similar, but doesn't look like the same ring to me.  But, if you like it, that's all that matters.  :)

Also, are you set on a diamond for a center stone?  There are other colorless options, FYI.

I think MotoLyn was right.  This looks like the same ring.  It's semimount, so you could buy a different stone to put in the center:

I bought my wedding ring and H's wedding ring off amazon. He ordered two he thought he would like and all 3 rings were less than the comparable option in my ring in the jewelry store, even local,

H looked at the center stones in person for my e-ring. He wanted to lay eyes on them and wasn't comfortable with buying blind. It's up to you! I feel very comfortable ordering online.

I bought my wedding band on amazon too. It came with some sort of authentication because it was a Benchmark ring. I didn't have any problems, but certainly do your research before buying anything.
