Friday Workout

I ended up not doing Yoga last night. Instead I went and made an impromptu date night to keep his mind off of his dad being majorly lame. I think it worked for the most part.

Today I'm going to do some Insanity on my lunch break (in about 50 minutes).

For some reason my rear end is way more sore than it was yesterday from when I did Legs & Back, so it should be fun times, lol.

I'll probably do my P90x Core Syn. dvd tomorrow and save Yoga for Sunday.

Oh, I also need to remember to do abs today too!

Re: Friday Workout

  • Today I managed to do my self esteem mirror thing and came up with 4 positive physical compliments for myself.

I've also decided that since it ALWAYS bothers me whenever FMIL talks about my weight (she does every time she sees me) that I'm going to politely tell her that I am sensitive about my weight and would prefer not to talk about it, whether that be good or bad.

I think she thought that it was a compliment to blurt out, "Wow! You're a lot skinnier than your mom!" one day. I just don't think that's something you should say to someone.

  • Ely, asking  your FMIL to stop with weight comments is a good step.  I did yoga last night and I was a sweaty mess by the end.  Some muscles feel better from being stretched but the back of my thighs are sore.  Got to watch Danish man go through yoga it was pretty amusing.  P90X yoga isn't as twisted as hot yoga.  Tonyoga was more about keeping certain power positions than the flexible stretch positions I'm used to.  Hahaha.... legs and back tonight.

I'm glad that you got a chance to make your FI feel better by being there with him.

  • Oh, and I forgot to add what this post is actually about! I didn't manage to do any exercise last night. My older DD and FI were fed up with each other over her homework so she waited to finish it with me when I got home. By the time we did that and then had dinner it was late and I had to start getting everyone ready for bed.

I don't think I'll be exercising tonight either since we're hoping to go out after work when we drop the girls off. We shall see!

  • I have to say that people who have children and still manage to work out at all are amazing!! I don't know how I'm going to keep up with workouts when we have a kid, lol. So I think it's awesome that you still find time to work out at all, lol. Date night sounds like fun too! : )

Yeah, FMIL thought it would be nice? Maybe? I kinda did a loud, "Ha!" like, I can't believe you just said that and didn't know what to say so I just went into the restaurant. She really was never taught that there are some things that you should just keep to yourself. Like her being asleep when she got knocked up with FI ... didn't need to know that either, lol.

Lol, yeah, I got FI to do Yoga with me too. He actually enjoyed it except for it being 90 minutes. I don't think I could handle pretzel positions, lol, but it'd be fun to try.

I get dizzy in the shower if I stay in too long though, so I don't know if hot yoga would be a good idea for me.  Have fun with Legs & Back!

  • Just finished my Insanity, although I did remember that I wanted to do Cardio Recovery instead of Yoga. I'm planning on alternating them each week and next week FI will have his radio club meeting, so I'll have the apartment to myself.

So I did that and tomorrow I'll do P90x Core Syn. and Sunday will be an Insanity cardio workout.

The recovery is 30 minutes, ish and HRM says I burned about 160 calories, but considering I drank an energy drink, got the wrong kind, and the energy drink is 260 calories, I'm still down, lol. I still have abs to do though and if I get a chance tonight I might run too. We'll see. It felt so good to loosen up though.

  • Oh and I was doing good with eating all week up until yesterday. I made FI a salmon dinner with green bean casserole and sweet potato and gave in and had a sweet potato and a huge helping of casserole instead of my Healthy Choice meal. Then I had ice cream. : (  ... and a couple of chips while I was cooking, lol. I go all the way when I go off track, don't I?

  • No work out for me tonight, le sigh......
I am usually an after work, work out person.  I wake up early enough during the week day.

I've known people that get up at 4:00 am (like Tiger, lol) to work out, but I think 6 am is plenty early enough for me, so I usually do them on my work breaks (if they're short) or I do them directly after work. It's tricky though because if I wait too long then I get hungry and have to eat and I can't do a workout after I eat. So I'd wait until my stomach is empty, but then the neighbors get mad if I make any noise at all. So I basically have one option: directly after work. It's good in that I can't put it off or I can't do it, but it's bad because sometimes I don't want to do it <em>right after work!

It helps to be on the ellipitical though when I get a netflix movie, I usually watch the movie when I am on it.
