S/O Your Go-to Hairstyle

Shoes' post got me thinking. What's your go-to daily hairstyle?

My hair is naturally wavy/curly, and between shoulder and boob length with side bangs. It's kind of a disaster, actually (well, I think so, most other people think it's oh so pretty when it's curly), so I straighten it on a very regular basis. Lately, I've been trying to give the flat iron a break, so I've been wearing it natural, and just scrunching with mousse when it's partially dry, and then if I have a chance, curling the odd chunk that refuses to curl on it's own. I call this my "pouffy lion look", but it's not exactly fierce.

So, what's your daily hairstyle? I always envy people who have gorgeous hair every single day (either naturally, or with a bit of work styling in the AM), which I'm sure some of you have.

I have never had long  hair before, as a kid all the way to the mid 20s my hair has been short or shoulder length.  So FI likes long  hair so I let it grow out, its stick straight and silky aka slippery, can't hold a curl worth my own life for long.  So go to hair style a braid that ends up draped over my shoulder on the right side.  I need hair styling help.  Though I'm also ready to chop it all off too.  I envy people with thick wavy hair.

I have great hair, but no patience. I'm typically donning a low pony with the long bangs behind my ears (unless they're grown enough to behave).

very long and with my natural curls, normally parted on the side of pulled back with a clip in a part-up/part-down style.

(excuse the face, after looking through my pictures it's obvious I refuse to take a normal looking one...  Embarassed )

    OR

pulled back in a side bun to contain the massive amount of curls!

I'm seriously needing some new styles (our e-pics are a week from Saturday!!!) so if you have any suggestions puh-leeeeez share them!!  :)

If I have nothing going on, my wavy mane is in an unruly bun on top of my head. I try to straighten it when I go out but it's a pain in the ass so i probably do it once a week, if that. My hair is about midway down my back and THICK.

My hair is really thin with a mix of wavy and curly. It's halfway between shoulder and boob length. I'm too lazy to fix it, so it is usually in a ponytail.

I have really fine hair that is super straight and will not hold a curl. After the wedding I will most likely cut it into a bob but right now I am growing it out so I just let it dry naturally and usually pull it back into a pony tail or bun.

My hair is curly which I both love and hate at the same time.

The furstrating thing for me is that curls hide alot of detail in the actual hair cut and I don't have "strong" curls so I can't grow my hair really long or they get weighed down too much. My sister jokes that I've had the same hairstyle for 15 years, if you straighten it  it isn't the same, but when it's a curly mess you can't really tell and it looks the same.

I usually just wash and go. My hair is pretty long I guess, but it feels short to me since it used to be so much longer. It's about halfway down my back maybe? I have lots of layers though. And mine's a wavy-curl; I really love my hair. It's so easy and pretty. Like lots of loose ringlets. I have some side bangs (which are more like layers right now) that I normally straighten but that's it. Wash, air dry, some goop and go. I'm lazy like that.

Lots of layers, I have fairly thick hair that is brown. I am currently growing it out, so that it is "long." I like to blow dry it to give it volume, but I rarely do the styling thing.

I have super long hair and because I have no imagiantion/patient for it it goes in a pony tail 99% of the time.  It is easy and simple.  Or in a braid shown here.  Please excuse my fashion problems:

My hair has a natural wave and can be beautiful down but it gets in my way so I never wear it down. :/  I really a such a tom girl.
Here it is down I like it but it just gets in the way the over the shoulder is so you can see how long it it :)  It is a little shorter now but still long :)

I am really jealous of you girls with curls my hair curls after being wet but it is so heavy it only stays for maybe an hour :(

Sounds like the majority of us have medium to long hair. I have chopped it off a couple of times, in different styles, and every time, it ends up being a bad idea. I'll never do it again (I say...we'll see). I should add I had straight hair up until puberty. It's been getting curlier since I was about 15. I wonder what will happen if/when I get pregnant...

Bella, I wish my hair was that curly. It's the in-between wavy/curly nonsense that drives me crazy about my hair! Either your curls or the relative straightness of Sunbirds hair, that would be OK too.

Bren, I would like my hair to do what yours seems to. I think yours is thicker than mine, which would make a huge difference!

And Hazel, I sympathize with the weak curls. When my hair is short, I have ringlets (which looks ridiculous on me). When it's long, I have waves.

I'm a bob girl. I just have a good face for the bob. I've had one on and off since 1996.

ETA: Most days, I wear my hair straight, since that's how it is naturally. But I do like to change it up, so I usually get some layers in my bob so it looks good wavy or straight

Beads - my hair was straight until I hit puberty, and then it curled almost over night!  I admit I'm a little worried if it will change when/if I become pregnant, and I really really want my children to have curls.  It's easy and I don't ever curl it, so it really saves on the heat damage of curlers and curling irons.  FI's hair is just as curly as mine, but a lot thicker (I actually have very very thin hair)...  so maybe I'll get my wish!  his hair is just gorgeous, although it's already starting to turn a little grey/white near his temples!  anyway, all the curls is a lot of work.  I spend a lot of time and money on deep conditioning treatments.  I don't trim or cut my hair, so I really try to be good to it and take care of it so it won't be dry and damaged looking.

have you tried to do much with braids?  I saw some really beautiful/simple styles where they used a loose braid in the front, almost like a headband.  my hair is way too curly for that, but I just love that style!

also, do you ever use a clarifying shampoo?  it helps to make my curls springy again when they start to get weighed down with product and shampoo/conditioner.  that might help give an appearance of "stronger" curls.  :)

Beads, I will admit that I got very lucky in the hair department. I think it's just becaues it's so easy for me to work with. I can straighten it too and I do that sometimes. Actually my sister and I are both really lucky, just opposites. Mine's a curly deep auburn, and she has straight strawberry blonde (aka orange) hair.

But I am so jealous of people who can pull off bobs. I love bobs. My BFF has one and I want it :( but short hair is just poofy on me.

Beads - My diffuser is my best friend. I, too, had straight hair until puberty. I didn't even think about my hair changing if/when I get pregnant. Man, I'm not looking forward to that. It's taken me years to get this comfortable with it, finding products for weak curly hair is a challenge.

Bella - Holy crap your hair used to be straight?! Wow! That is a major change! My BF also has the most beautiful curls! He's getting a cut tonight, and I'm really excited. He has extremely nice hair, it's just wayy over grown. I really hope my kids get nice, curly hair as well. We'll have to see... And I've never done much with braids - I just can't get them right. I agree, they can look really nice. I know exactly what you're talking about with the headband type thing, but I'm not that talented. And yes, I use a clarifying shampoo once per week a couple of days after deep conditioning. It makes a huge difference!

Hazel - Yes, the diffuser and I have a great relationship! It makes my hair look much fuller, although I think it curls more evenly when it air dries, so I don't use it every day. What do you use in your hair, may I ask? I attempt new things all the time, and while I'm OK with my current routine, it's a very small amount of a lot of different products, so it's super annoying!

I have random hair.  The hairs themselves are really fine but I have twelve pounds of them.  I get my hair thinned constantly otherwise it's an unruly mess.

It's sort of wavy, sort of straight with a flippy outty thing at the bottom.  I usually run a flat iron (on med heat) over it quickly in the AM to tame it.

That would be pretty cool if my hair curled over night!
Except the times in middle and highschool when I died it pink, blue, orange, red, or purple, my hair has been straight and blonde my entire life.
My senior year in highschool was when I chopped it from past-waist length to shoulder length, and it's been that way these past couple years.

I really miss my long hair. :(

Ditto that.  I don't have the face for a bob though.  So, it's been on and off with the layers and weird styles since I was 8.  I'm trying to grow it out, which with super thin fine hair is probably not the best idea.  Which means that I'm due for another super-expensive hair cut with one of the designers at the school I go to.  I have no idea what looks good on me either, which makes it twice as difficult.  I might get it done in the next few weeks.  We'll see.

My hair is wavy, but not a good wavy. It's thin, but there's a lot of it. My go-to style is this:

Please excuse the flirty expression. That length was when I talked BF into letting me cut it. Usually it's closer to this length:

Right now I have blonde highlights and red lowlights and have gotten lots of complements on them. The pic above is my normal hair color.

Luckily my hair holds curl pretty well, so on the weekends if I have time to air dry it, I'll let it dry wavy, then put some extra curl into it. It looks sexxxy that way :)

My hair is fairly long (just above my natural waist) but thin and cut in in layers. Usually I take a small triangle of hair and twist it into an inch-high bump and clip it with the rest of it down (that's really hard to describe). It keeps my hair out of my face.

I also used to have super straight hair. Now it has a funky wave, and I'd rather it be straight.

For routine, I wash it every other day with Aveda shampoo and Pureology conditioner. I also use Redken CAT a few times a week on my hairdresser's advice to counteract the coloring damage. She also buys this stuff for me at discount, so I have salon-size bottles that last for months. I only blowdry it when I absolutely have to. And if we're going out, I'll flatiron it and curl the ends with the flatiron.

Usually because my hair is so damn uruly - think frizzes easily + naturally curly and too much volume = a hot mess most the time. I haven't had my hair "done" except for my wedding , in nearly 10 years. Mostly I just pull it back in a modified ponytail so it's up off my shoulders since I get hot easily. Lately I will pull my hair to the side with a flower clip as an accent as seen below. It's dressy yet can be casual and is still easy enough to work in without much of a fuss.

Ideally I would like to get my hair layered with some highlights and just to my shoulders frmaing my face similar to what soes posted earlier though.

I have very long straight hair. It's medium thickness. It does not like to hold a curl.

This is the most recent shot of how long my hair is:

I rarely do anything with it. I usually let it air dry and always have a rubber band on my wrist to pull it back if it's getting annoying being loose. When I pull it pack it either looks like this:
