We're having our engagement pictures taken tomorrow morning! And I have my next fitting and my dress should actually be sewn to fit!! Also FMIL and FSIL are coming to stay with my parents so they can see where we're getting married. And I'm having my last (and biggest, rut roh) shower this weekend. Phew.

    Okay, now someone else go:

AWWWW That cake topper is SO CUTE!!!

I bought FI a watch (for anniversary/engagement) yesterday and when the woman was sizing it she scratched it all to hell. Luckily, they had another watch so we got another one and told her we'd take it to a jeweler. FI about threw a fit. I'm not going to buy a couple hundred $$ watch thats scratched!

I forgot my phone at home yesterday and I had a voicemail from FSIL stating her demands for being a bridesmaid. Hot pink dress that is "super cute", and her BFF is the flowergirl...among others. Shes 14 and pretty psyched!

Kat, that shade of green is beautiful! I think my bedroom rug is the same exact color...

I'm going to AW about how I get to drive today!!! For the first time in 3 weeks!!! AND I carried a laundry basket full of laundry down a flight of stairs!!! And I'm going to carry it to the laundry room!!!

After being bedridden and practically invalid for so long, it's the small victories in life that I take pleasure in ;-)

My BF is going to Florida for a week for work, so I'm going to be left by myself in our new house for the first time (well, the dog can keep me company)...I'm a little nervous about it. Also I'm trying to make myself a list of projects for the house to distract myself while he's gone....so far I've got paint the spare bedroom, make curtains for the kitchen and experiment with my new sewing machine. I've got this cute hot pepper fabric that I'm dying th make into an apron.

Ekath - what the heck! where did you go to get this watch? What a stupid woman.

Bbella - congrats on being able to be mobile!! That's the best feeling getting to be independent again.

Mutley - We can cohabitate anyday.

Hazel - you'll have to keep us updated on your DIY projects as well. : ) I know I will be getting everyone's opinions when curtains time comes. I am also hankering for a sewing machine - so fun!

At my old Macy's. I should have known when she said "Do you want to size it, I hate sizing watches" I should have just left.  She wasn't one of the usual fine jewelry people so thats my fault for letting her do it. FI thought she was drunk or high. We're just going to take it to my uncle when we get my ring sized and have him size it.

Kat - Thanks! I took a sewing class last month and made a handbag, so I need to keep up my skills. I bought a Husqavarna sewing machine to help me practice. The day I bought it BF was talking to his mom and she told him that his uncle was contemplating buying a Husqavarna motorcycle, he replied "oh, we just bought a Husqavarna"; mom replied" really? a lawnmower?"...he replied "nope, a sewing machine" She was so baffled, apparently this company makes everything.

These are just simple little bistro curtains that I'm hoping to do for about $5 per window. I hate curtains though, I never have a clue of what to do. It's the only place I really struggle when it comes to decorating. So, I'll definitely want to see what you end up doing, I think we have similar tastes.

Ohhh good luck with the pics!!  You have ALOT going on!   Only 2 months to go!

    You are a vintage vision!

Hmm. What can I AW... I only have a WEEK left of summer classes... BF and I decided on an engagement somewhere in August or September (if there aren't any extenuating circumstances)... I'm definitely going to graduate early..

And my parents just celebrated their 28th anniversary!

(because it wouldn't be a AW without a PIP)

Narwhal - My parents will also be married 28 years in July and I'm pretty sure my mom had the same dress.  I think everyone had the turtleneck dress back then.

My parents are married around the same number years as well. My mother's dress had spaghetti straps, but she had sleeves put on it. Her mother had passed away before she got married, and always said she liked a wedding gown with sleeves. So my mother had sleeves put on as a tribute to her, something I always found very touching.

I actually really like my mom's wedding dress.  Seems to be good luck. I've considered wearing it for my wedding, but I think I want to have the experience of looking for my own. I would get the turtleneck taken off if possible.. I feel like I'm choking in turtlenecks.  But I do like the sleeves.

Yeah, I'm going to give it a try when I get to that point.  I'll try it on and see a dress maker to see what they can do with it, but I won't have my heart set on it.  I'll probably go dress shopping too and then compare. I don't even know the type of material it's made out of, so it might be really uncomfortable or hot.

    1) Kat - I love the cake topper, it's so fitting for you guys! :) ps. Nice towels ;)

    2) Mutley - can I move it too? I cook and clean!

    3) Tuffy - so sorry to hear about your puppy. :( I don't care how old they are, they're always puppies to me.

    My life update:

    1) We also found a cake topper, ironically enough:

And we're pretty sure it's going on this cake:

Only, we're changing around the colors a bit to work with our color scheme - the cake will be white (instead of blue) and the piping (normally white) and fish (normally orange) will be tan. Yay for marine biologist weddings. :)

We also ordered FI's wedding ring while we were in OH visiting my family. ::gulp::

Non-wedding related, I have a bunch of tests lined up for the next few days to find out what the hell is wrong with me now. They'll be injecting me full of nuclear dye tomorrow (I better come out of that with some sort of friggin superpowers), and I have an endoscopy on Monday. I'm hoping that they're going to take surgery off the table in terms of options, but it's not looking good for that.

Oh yeah, and I'm kinda in lurve with ricky's new puppy... :)

Kat, your place looks great... love the colors!

I have no pics of my AW... but BF and I have been busy painting and getting ready for the move.  We have B's room painted and trimmed, the hallway and living room 1st coat is on and he'll be finishing that up tonight.  We are hoping to get the kitchen painted next week and save the bathroom for a weekend after we get moved and more settled.
