lunch! weekend! FRIDAY!!

I have not been this excited for Friday in a long time...  YAY!!

what's for lunch today?  what are all the plans for this weekend?

today, I'm having some leftover tortilla soup for lunch (Martha Stewart, with some modifications) and a PBJ (total comfort food).  I'm pretty excited about it.  it's cold and drizzly today, so it'll be perfect.  YUM.

I think this weekend will be pretty busy.  my dad is out of town (he does trials and hunts with his bird dogs) so my mom is hanging out with me and H.  she's been especially lonely and sad since Sassy was put down 2 weeks ago, so we're making her hang out with us all weekend.

tonight, we're going to eat at a new Italian place.  then we're dragging her along to grocery shop.  we usually go get groceries on Friday nights after dinner... it's not crowded at all!

tomorrow I'm going to a craft/food show with H and my mom.  then I'm going to go home and chill in PJs with them, while watching a movie and making frito chili pie, light style.  H has to speak at our Spanish service that evening so he'll probably hole himself up in the bedroom to work on his message.  I'm supposed to cook enchiladas and rice for Sunday lunch, so I might pre-make those so all I have to do on Sunday is heat it up!

not too exciting, but busy enough.  next weekend I have an Italian cooking class AND we're putting in my garden... YAY!!

Re: lunch! weekend! FRIDAY!!

  • I was actually just telling Tiger how excited I am about lunch today.  My company orders in on Fridays and I ordered a Pear & Endive salad from the Skinnylicious part of the Cheesecake Factory menu.  NOMNOMNOMNOM!!!
  • now my lunch sounds lame.  THANKS A LOT SHOES!!!!!  Yell

have you had the salad before?  it sounds delicious.
  • Shoes, that sounds amazing.

I have no idea what's for lunch.  One of the other interns is going out with the dept for her last day, so I may end up going with them.  If they pick somewhere I don't think is safe, I'm getting a salad from downstairs.

I'm beyond excited it's Friday.  Especially this Friday.  I'm going home, getting dressed for the gym and then driving to Tampa.  I'm going to go to the gym there, run, do my abs, sit in a tanning bed (yes, I know this is bad for me in the long run, but it really helps with my acne and the psoriasis I have on my scalp), and then get showered and dressed to pick BF up from the airport.  And then I get to have the best weekend ever.

  • Coco: I'm jealous of your PB&J sammy.  I couldn't tell you the last time I had one of those.  By the way, I made ST's sloppy joes last night & if you haven't made them before I HIGHLY recommend them.  They were so good I had to really stop myself at 2.

I have no idea what to have for lunch.  I forgot to pack a Smart One so unless my desk ordered something already I'm stuck with either Subway or Au Bon Pain.

This weekend should be good.  I have nothing going on tonight, tomorrow we have a Devils game, & Sunday I'm getting together for brunch with Yaga & her FI & hopefully a couple other ladies from the board (Ollie & Jorja) will be joining us!

  • I think I'm going to have a smoothie for lunch so I can enjoy it while I run errands.  Assuming, of course, that I manage to get my butt in gear.  I'm feeling really lazy today.
  • thanks for the ST sloppy joe's tip.  my mom has been craving them, so I'll send them on to her.  I'll put it on our dinner menu for the next couple weeks... YUM.

I can't decide if I feel sick or not today. This always happens when I'm on my period - I can't tell if I'm hungry or nauseous.

BF is coming up this weekend and I'm really excited to see him. We don't have any big plans. I just like spending time with him.

  • Lunch-Skinny taste Turkey Chili Taco Soup (leftover from dinner last night. SO FREAKING GOOD! Clicky).

Tonight- no plans as of yet. We'll probably go play some pool or go bowling since BF's friend is in town this weekend and we went to bed at 9 p.m. last night. True story...9p.m. We are OLD!

Tomorrow-I'm running a 5K in the A.M. Then I have to make margarita cupcakes (clicky) for an engagement party Then we're headed to a get together/release party at a local brewery. Then the engagement party.

Sunday-get over my hangover from the night before.

Speaking of which, I have to go get some tequila for those cupcakes! Wooo!
  • Shoes-Does your company buy lunch for you on Friday's or do you just all order from the same place and pay your own? I've never been/had Cheesecake Factory. I have always thought their menu looks awesome.

I'm having Mac and Cheese for lunch. I have class until 5, then I work Saturday and Sunday both 3-close. But, Getting through this weekend is one weekend closer to Spring Break, our menu tasting, and our engagements pics.

  • FIRDAY!  Friday usually means I get to go out and buy lunch, which is usually a mini chicken bowl from this place called Flame Broiler with brown rice.  I'm excited today cause Danish Man let me take his car to work so I get to cruise around in a Hemi V-8.  Tonight we're having sushi for dinner, so exciting, well after we work out first.  As for the weekend the highlight is getting to go out tomorrow morning and paddle surf, we get these big 10-11 feet boards and paddle around on the ocean using elongated paddles and maybe if I'm feeling daring try to catch some waves.  Then more sushi for dinner!  Other than that work on our house and start building our kitchen and perhaps watch Bridesmaids (I've seen it, Danish man hasn't) and eat Danish candies.

  • I'm having the most amazing sandwich for lunch: 12 grain bread, turkey, apples, carmelized onions and gouda cheese. YUM!

This weekend we have a going away party and two birthday parties to go to. I'm trying to limit myself to two drinks each night. I'm running in a 5k race tomorrow and have convinced FI that Sunday we should both have rest days from training so we can actually relax and reconnect. I cannot wait until Sunday.

    Still here and still fabulous!

  • I brought a lean cuisine pizza for lunch today...it's not bad, but I'm not excited about it.

I don't think we have any plans tonight, but the IL's might be coming up tomorrow, so I'll probably straighten up a bit and run the vacuum.  Tomorrow we'll probably go hiking or something and then Sunday night, H and I are doing our V-Day dinner at Flemmings, which I'm excited for (I love their prime rib).

  • gouda cheese???  that is not FAIR.  I love gouda.

cool fact... my mom's dad died 3 years before I was born.  apparently he loved gouda as much as I do.  one day I was sitting and eating a big block of it with crackers and my mom walked in, and said that it reminded her of her dad because he used to do the same thing.  I was named after him, too.  so gouda always reminds me of my grandfather now.  :)

Danish man and I were talking about this the other day, it is a TON of work to do on our own and I feel like i live in a construction zone.  But I'm a pretty handy gal and I can handle saw dust and debris so it's fine.  I'm excited for the kitchen, FI designed the cabinets and lay out and is building it from scratch.  He even built me a hidey-hole for for my stand mixer so it doesn't have to sit on the counter and all I have to do is lift the cabinet door and slide the mixer out.  One day far off in the future the house will be done and I'll post the crazy pictures.  So far its a slow process.  Here's a pic of ripping out the beams to open the kitchen up and extend it further out to the living room.

  • I am having the BEST Friday I've had in a long time. Tomorrow is my birthday, and usually my office is really lame with birthdays - people barely even say happy brithday to each other and some people won't even say when theirs is. So I was hella surprised when I came in to work today and there was a balloon and a cake on my desk from my "work mom". Then my boss shows up with cannolis, an awesome scarf that his wife picked out, and a gift card. I was super embarassed but pretty stoked too :) I'm definitely having cake for lunch - screw it.

Tonight I am stopping at Sephora on the way home to buy myself a little something, and then Jon and I are going out to dinner and possibly a movie. Tomorrow, we're going to breakfast at a place I've been wanting to try forever, then we're going to the NE Aquarium!! As long as it doesn't snow too much - it better not. Then we're going to my mom's house, where she is making me a full tilt gourmet birthday dinner, and then we are all going out to a local bar to hang out. I'm super pumped :)

Oh, and I have a super cute outfit on today, with curly hair :) All in all, this is an A+ Friday :)
  • I woke up with a sore throat and stuffy nose. I should have known (I almost always get sick after a plane trip), but I left my work computer at work and my home access isn't working today. So I'm working from my phone more than anything.

Anyway, I had PB&J on whole wheat bread for breakfast. I don't know what I'll do for lunch.

My only plan this weekend is rehearsal for my musical theatre number (that I also choreographed). It's looking so cute! We're doing "Good 'n' Evil" from Jekyll & Hyde.
  • HAPPY BIRTHDAY SOUSA!!  it sounds like you're having a wonderful day, and a great weekend coming up...  that's the best!  enjoy your birthday weekend!  :)

  • Danie -- It's awesome that you're doing a 5k! Good luck!

Shoes -- that salad sounds yum!

Peek -- YAY! Enjoy your weekend, honey!

Leia -- Sorry you're sick. :( Feel Better. You, too, Beth!

    Happy Birthday, Sous! <3

Coco -- my dad hunts and trains bird dogs, too! He has German Shorthair Pointers. What does your dad have?

For lunch, a friend is picking me up a veggie burrito while she's out running errands. And then I'm going to treat myself to a big ol' heart-shaped sugar cookie with red frosting. Happy V Day to me! :)

Working tomorrow, and then Sunday H is working a split shift so we can go to a couple's v-day dinner party. Should be fun!

desert - he has Brittanies.  we had a GSP for a little while, but he just LOVES Brittanies.  he judges at trials a lot, that's where he is this weekend.

    PICS!

Rocket's mom, Lady.  she stays with us half the time, but we don't own her.  my dad just trains her and runs her in the National Trials for her owner.  this is our first year without Lady.

That sounds awesome! Definitely something I would love to do.

All of your lunches sound so good. My FI has been on a juicer only kick which leaves me with almonds, grapes and blueberries for my lunch.

Tonight we are going to dinner with a guy I work with. I made a cake topper for his daughter and this is the payment. It's this awesome little pizza place where you bring your own beer and wine and they always have a band playing.

Tomorrow, work on all of my craft projects. Sunday - premarital class then cleaning.

  • My weekend isn't looking any better than last weekend - I've been laid up sick most of the week, and had to go in again this morning.  At least now I have meds that are working.  Unfortunately, my entire weekend is going to probably be sitting around or sleeping.

On a good note, Andrew's mother is looking at some pups from a breeder done in Memphis for us, so maybe we'll hear something good about that.
  • Aw, Coco, those are some beautiful dogs!!!

I love the way dogs look when they're pointing. AND when you catch a doggy grin on their faces! :)

One of these days, H and I will get into a house and have a yard so we can get a dog. When we were at the ILs for Superbowl Sunday, I was watching H and his brothers with the dogs they grew up with, and it made me sappy, thinking about our little boy being all grown up and still loving on his pets, and I said to H, "We really NEED dogs someday. A boy should have a dog."
