MBTI questions

I remember from my intro a couple weeks ago that some folks seemed interested in the Meyers Briggs personality types. I always find it fun to hear about other people's types and whatnot, so here are some questions if you're bored at work like me!

1) What's your type?
2) What's your SO's type?
3) How does that combination work for you? What are the good and bad parts?

Also, just for fun: I know of three INFJs on the board now, myself included. How many of the "rarest type" are there on TK?

If you have no idea what I'm talking about/what type you are and enjoy personality tests, here's a link to a free test: http://www.humanmetrics.com/cgi-win/jtypes2.asp. You can google the letters it pops out to see what they mean. Although I'm sure most people get subjected to this stuff in college/work at some point.

And finally, advance apologies to people who hate this stuff. I am just such a psychology geek sometimes. :)

Re: MBTI questions

  • I'm INFJ.  I need to ask BF to take it, but I'd guess he's probably similar, and more strongly than I am.

I am ESFJ, rather interesting not sure I was expecting that.

ETA no clue what FI would be I may try to get him to take it sometime

  • 1) I'm an ESFJ (though F and J are kind of borderline/situational)

    2) I'm guessing DH is an INTJ, borderline on T

    3) Getting DH to talk about his feelings, or even CONNECT with his feelings is like pulling teeth. It's super-obvious he is an I... he needs his downtime/alone time to recharge his batteries and gets REALLY worn out when we have a lot of events that involve interacting with other people. We're a good mix, though, and continue to learn how the other person 'sees' the world.

    Still here and still fabulous!

  • 1) What's your type?

    I'm INFJ.

    2) What's your SO's type?

    He's INTJ.

    3) How does that combination work for you? What are the good and bad parts?

It works out fine for us.  We are very similar in how we think about things...except he's more logical, and I'm more emotional.  Always.  Makes for a nice counterbalance.

Also...can I say that I am SHOCKED that so many of us are INFJ.  It's supposed to be really, really rare.
  • So I just took the test again, for the first time in several years, and I got INFJ instead of INFP.

    Odd.

Granted, I only showed a very small (1%) preference on the J/P category, but I'm still surprised.  I feel like more of a P still.

Maybe its our intuition and we just all found the same spot to hang out?  :)

For those of you interested in a theory of how pairings work...

Note- This is the opposites attract therory, however, and isn't the only one out there by any stretch of the imagination.
